If you’ve ever researched mattresses, you may have noticed they tend to be on sale a lot. Don’t be fooled, this is usually a tricky marketing tactic—and Black Friday mattress deals are no exception. Prices are marked up exorbitantly in early November, then dropped down to a “sale” price for the shopping holiday. You see the huge discount and think it’s a good time to buy. Sometimes, though, prices do drop lower than that faux deal, and right now 11 of our favorites are truly discounted. The prices below are for queen sizes unless noted.

We track prices throughout the year so we know how good the sale prices are, but we’ve added a few new mattresses that we haven’t been able to track as closely yet. Some of those prices may be reduced even more, and more of our favorites will likely also have good discounts closer to Black Friday. Be sure to read our buying guides for the Best Mattresses you can buy online, Best Organic Mattresses, and Best Mattresses for Side Sleepers. And check out the rest of our favorite Early Black Friday Deals.

We test products year-round and handpick these deals. Products that are sold out or no longer discounted as of publishing will be crossed out. We’ll update this guide through November.

Helix Sleep Midnight Luxe Hybrid Mattress

Enter code BF25 at checkout to get this discount and two pillows. The Midnight Luxe Hybrid is our favorite mattress, and it’s frequently discounted to $1,899. This price matches other sales we’ve tracked, and we haven’t seen it get lower yet. The medium-firm feel is relaxing for all sleeping positions, but our tester loved it for stomach sleeping. We tried the Midnight Luxe, but there are a few other versions in the Luxe family for different firmness levels and sleeping positions.

Code BF25 adds two pillows to your order. We haven’t been tracking the Elite as long as the Luxe, but this matches the cheapest price we saw during Labor Day. Even with a sale, this is the most expensive mattress we recommend. It has nine layers of foam over the Luxe’s six, and it is 16 inches thick. It comes in two boxes and zips together to form one, super-thick bed. You’ll need a bed frame with slats. Like the Luxe, there are various options meant for different sleeping positions and levels of firmness. We tried the softest one, which cradled us to sleep.

Bear Elite Hybrid Mattress

Enter code BLACKFRIDAY23 at checkout on Bear’s website to get this deal on our favorite side-sleeping mattress, as well as a free mattress protector, sheet set, and two pillows (those aren’t included from Amazon). The Bear Elite is 14 inches thick and firmer than most mattresses aimed at side sleepers, but it’s comfortable, with a layer of springs of varied rigidity that allow your hips to sink while still supporting your side. The Elite occasionally reaches its $2,305 price, but it’s been steadily $1,614 or less on Amazon—it was $126 less than this sale price in September, so you might want to see if it goes back down.

Use code BF25 on Birch’s site to get the discount plus two pillows. This is another mattress we haven’t been tracking as long, but it seems to almost always be at $2,599, rather than its $3,249 list price. The Birch Luxe Natural is an upgraded, organic bed. It’s GOTS-certified, using natural latex with no polyurethane-based foams. It’s medium-firm with structured support for varying sleeping positions, and the pillowy top uses a layer of blended cashmere to help with temperature regulation.

We used to recommend Nectar’s classic memory foam mattress, and while it’s still a good bed, this Premier is a hybrid that’s great for pressure relief. It has an extra layer of foam and is softer than the original so you can sink slowly into this bed while still being supported. If you buy directly from Nectar’s site, make sure you click hybrid before adding to your cart; it defaults to foam. This is best if you sleep only on your side. If you flop around, consider another one of our picks, particularly the Bear Elite above.

Brooklyn Bedding Plank Firm Mattress

You don’t need a code for Amazon, but on other retailers, use VETERAN30. The Plank is, as the name suggests, firm. Like firm firm, as if you were sleeping on a wood floor. You can flip it over to sleep on top of the two inches of comfort foam, but if you’re intrigued by a bed called the Plank, you likely don’t want to do that. It took a few days to inflate fully, so you might think it’s too soft at first; we found it firmed up considerably. The edge support is lacking, however.

This is a new, super cheap addition to our guide. It’s been around $219 since May and only just shot up to over $300 on Amazon at the beginning of November. We hope it will drop back down, but $52 off an already cheap bed isn’t bad, plus it’s made without formaldehyde or flame retardant. It’s super soft, and we slept comfortably, but we probably wouldn’t want to sleep on it every night. It’s best reserved for kids or guest rooms.

Serta Perfect Sleeper Cobalt Calm Plush Pillowtop

There are a bunch of customizations you can select for this mattress, but we tested the ultimate support level with a plush pillow top. The Perfect Sleeper is an innerspring mattress, and it doesn’t come all rolled up so you’ll have to schedule delivery. It’s soft and supportive, and those springs are arranged in three zones of firmness so side and back sleepers should find comfort.

Use code GOGREEN at checkout to apply the discount. We’ve seen this bed get cheaper, but not yet this year. This is the typical sale price. If you want your kids to sleep on a hybrid mattress that’s made using certified organic cotton, wool, and latex, get them the Kiwi. Its twin size is cheaper than most of our favorite picks, but it’s still comfortably firm—WIRED writer Scott Gilbertson says his children think it’s the most comfortable bed they’ve slept on.

Enter code BFCM2023 at checkout to get this discount plus two free pillows. Like Keetsa, Molecule doesn’t run constant deals, and this is the lowest price we’ve tracked for it. It has held up well after a year, and I find it comfortable, but it’s very soft. My husband and I agree that it’s better suited for back sleeping than the flip-flopping that I tend to do all night.
