The franchise went on to have an MMO launched in Japan and a Netflix animated series based on the game. Fans can keep their gameplay experience fresh by checking out these awesome PC mods.
Updated December 19, 2023 by Ritwik Mitra: With the release of Dragon’s Dogma 2 finally a reality, fans are going to scour through the first game and enjoy the strengths of this action title. Featuring a relatively small open world with a rather generic story to boot, everyone forgave Dragon’s Dogma for its limitations once they got to interact with the amazing combat system of this game.
Each class in the title feels unique to play, with something as dreaded as an archer feeling just as responsive and action-packed as other classes once players check it out firsthand. Suffice it to say, fans of the game who’ve played through the title numerous times will want something fresh for their umpteenth playthrough, and this is where Dragon’s Dogma mods come into the picture.

1 Magickal Modifications
Downloads: 4,514
The magic that players have access to in Dragon’s Dogma is pretty great in its own right, with mages and sorcerers being a blast to control. However, after using these spells over and over again, fans would appreciate the opportunity to try out something different.
While Magickal Modifications doesn’t add new spells per se, what it does is change the function of existing spells to make them different and stronger. It’s a simple yet fun mod to download for players who want to enjoy something different during their playthrough of Dragon’s Dogma.
2 Greatsword MAX
Downloads: 49,438
There’s something oddly alluring about wielding a massive blade in battle that never ceases to be engaging in any video game. Dragon’s Dogma is no exception here, even if some people would’ve liked a more robust movement while using a Greatsword.
This is possible with a mod that changes everything from basic moves to the various skills players can use with a Greatsword. It also allows players to equip an invisible shield and use its abilities, letting players make the most of a warrior character that specializes in brute force.
3 Berserk Equipment Restored

Berserk is one of the most popular manga ever made, and the loss of Kentaro Miura was a bitter pill to swallow for most fans. Dragon’s Dogma came around the time when The Golden Age movies were coming, setting the stage for a great crossover between both games on the original version of this title on PS3 and Xbox 360.
5 Reasons Why Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen Still Holds Up Well
With its sequel right around the corner, there are multiple reasons why Capcom’s RPG title is still a success after many years.
These armor sets were absent on modern consoles for a while but can be enjoyed once more with the advent of this mod. Roleplaying as Guts, Casca, or Griffith becomes a cinch after players install this mod.
4 Megahair And Beards 2K
Downloads: 58,327
The hair in Dragon’s Dogma is pretty serviceable and gets the job done, but some people would want more than the bare minimum in this regard. So, it’s only a given that a mod exists that allows players to increase the texture of the hairs and bears in the game, giving them a better and more detailed look that augments the style of a game that can look drab at points.
The higher-resolution textures aren’t too much of a burden on most modern GPUs and go a long way in making Dragon’s Dogma look better than the vanilla version. It’s a small but welcome change that fans of more high-fidelity textures who are particular about the graphics in their video games would love.
5 Cast Faster
Downloads: 60,226
Dragon’s Dogma is a fast-paced game where a single misstep can have dire consequences for the player. After all, enemies can be quite rapid, and it’s imperative to either get the first hit in combat or dodge around with great proficiency to not be taken down in a few blows or so. This is why some people don’t prefer being an outright sorcerer, since these spells can take a while to cast, leaving them open to attack.
This is where the Cast Faster mod will prove to be a huge help. This mod buffs the Articulacy augment to cast magic even faster, making the Mage, Sorcerer, Magick Archer, and Mystic Knight class more viable than ever before. Weaving spells like a master and watching enemies fall to a heap makes for a great time that never ceases to be satisfying.
6 Fashion’s Dogma
Downloads: 51,722
The armor in Dragon’s Dogma is pretty practical and looks great, but some fans would always want their attire to be a bit more personalized to their tastes. For these fans, the Fashion’s Dogma mod is the way to go.
10 Most Overlooked RPGs From The 2000s
The 2000s was a great decade for RPG’s, but gamers overlooked these amazing titles.
It’s a simple mod that tweaks most of the armor in the game, even if the majority of armor changes are reserved for female characters. Players should be forewarned that a lot of the armor in this mod can be a bit too revealing and fanservice-y, so anyone downloading this mod should think twice if immersion is something they are very particular about.
7 Greater Rewards
Downloads: 120,292
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen‘s combat system is deep and satisfying, although it would be nice if some of the game’s quests resulted in better rewards. Greater Rewards is a convenient download for those looking to earn riches quickly in Capcom’s game.
The Dragon’s Dogma mod comes with three levels of reward amplification: x2, x5, and x10. Now, there are reports of this mod not working with some of the later versions of the game, so it is recommended to stick to an earlier patched version of Dragon’s Dogma.
8 Adjusted Stats From Leveling Up
Downloads: 91,098
For players wanting to create a beast of a character, there’s a mod that will help them reap the best of all the stats. The Adjusted Stats from Leveling Up Mod has a variety of different builds, allowing players to really build their character up to the max, or just improve their stats a little, it’s their choice.
The mod takes the best stats from across the classes and adds them to the player’s character when they level up, so regardless of which class is chosen, they’ll be a powerhouse. For anyone worrying that their pawns will be negatively affected, the Hybrid version of the mod ensures that pawns will not be altered.
9 Power Leveling
Downloads: 83,588
Leveling up in any game can be a grind, it’s a chore that takes more and more time with each level that players gain, as they require more and more experience to hit the next level. Dragon’s Dogma is no different, and with a level cap of 200, it can be a very long journey to get there.

18 Best Third-Person Action-Adventure Games Of All Time, Ranked
The third-person action-adventure genre is broad and omnipresent, but here are some titles that really stood out among a crowd of copycats.
The Power-Leveling Mod helps players burn to level 200 a little quicker by reducing the number of experience points that are required. The mod has multiple options, with players being able to reduce the required amount by 75%, 50%, or 25%.
10 Pawn Stars
Downloads: 28,258
For players looking to have a few more strong, fierce women in their game, the Pawn Stars Mod does just the job. The mod changes all of the offline pawn models to female characters who have been overhauled to look a lot better than the standard NPCs, including making them rather fashionable.
This mod is great because it doesn’t negatively affect the player’s save files in any way, and it is highly compatible with other Dragon’s Dogma mods as it doesn’t affect the main data file.
11 Seraph FX- Clear Days Dark Nights
Downloads: 19,195
The Seraph FX- Clear Days Dark Nights Mod gives Gransys a much-needed makeover by making the days brighter and the nights darker, all with a crystal clear and crisp texture. Players can immerse themselves in the world a lot more with this stunning mod.
This mod adds a lot of ambiance and it keeps it natural by not using lights that are too warm or too cool. It also affects the weather effects in the game, so bad weather has a moodier atmosphere while clear days are more vibrant.
12 Remove Screenshot Watermark
Downloads: 22,497
With most games, players enjoy taking screenshots of their adventures, but this is especially true of games that feature wide expansive areas to explore, such as Dragon’s Dogma. The annoying thing is when those screenshots immediately have copyright text across them, and while this can be cropped out, it means losing part of the image.
The 10 PC RPGs With The Best Storylines
Gamers turn to role-playing games for engaging narratives, and here is a look at the best stories to be found in RPGs available on PC.
The Remove Screenshot Watermark Mod kindly removes this issue for players, as well as offering another option that just keeps the game’s logo, if players want to keep it that is.
13 Spell Mod Pack
Downloads: 53,064
Signette has created its fair share of mods that update some of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen‘s magic spells. These vary in scope; some re-balance the spells to make them viable in the late game, while others focus on eliminating bugs.
The Spell Mod Pack compiles Signette’s seven spell mods: Accurate Bolide, Extended Necromancy, Improved Exequy, Revised Comestion, Durable Frigor, Dense Seism, Prolonged Enchantments, Inflection Augment Fix. These mods work well and are simple to install, so they are a good addition to most playthroughs of Capcom’s action RPG.
14 All Items Save File
Downloads: 35,800
This mod is essentially a cheat, so it’s not recommended for new players as they can only have one save file at a time and the game should be experienced as it was truly intended first of all.
However, if players have already explored Gransys to their heart’s content and want to play around a bit, the All Items Save File mod will give them a save file with 100 of every base item in their storage. To put this into perspective, that’s over 1900 items in total, which can make numerous things in a new game of Dragon’s Dogma a breeze to accomplish.
15 Remove The Arisen Chest Scar
Downloads: 37,631
Players take on the role of the “Arisen”, the one chosen by the dragon at the beginning of the game to have their heart ripped out, yet they survive due to their link with the beast. This means that throughout the rest of the game, the protagonist is sporting a rather hefty chest scar.
If players want a cosmetic change to get rid of the scar, they can simply mod it away with the Remove The Arisen Chest Scar mod. The function it achieves is obvious and goes a long way in making the protagonist look more aesthetically pleasing if that’s what players want.
16 Easy Clothing Inventory ID
Downloads: 57,509
The Easy Clothing Inventory ID mod offers players the extra convenience of being able to more readily differentiate between the clothing in their inventory without having to manually hover over them, saving plenty of time and effort.
10 Capcom Franchises That Should Be Revived
With Capcom reviving Marvel vs. Capcom with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, we take a look at 10 other franchises the Resident Evil studio should bring back from the dead.
There are two different versions available, one that offers a more subtle blue glow, and the other with a stronger glow, depending on player choice. This mod is ideal for new players but is also suited to long-term players just for convenience purposes.
17 DDDA Japanese VoiceOver Project
Downloads: 83,865
Many current games will allow players to switch between their local language and Japanese if they wish to. Regrettably, Dragon’s Dogma doesn’t offer this, likely due to its age, but players can manually add in the voices themselves with the DDDA Japanese VoiceOver Project mod.
Installing this mod will give the characters and NPCs their Japanese voice actors, as well as lipsyncing. There are a couple of lines that remain in English, in particular for the female voice 4 option, but this mod is still a great addition overall.
18 Jump
Downloads: 62,803
One of the greatest aspects of the Dragon’s Dogma gameplay is being able to jump onto some of the larger enemies, holding onto them as long as their stamina allows, and stabbing them as they do so. There are some great moments within the game where this mechanic works with flying beasts, leaving players holding on for dear life, and hoping their stamina doesn’t deplete.
However, to maximize the jump range of the Arisen, players can install the Jump mod, which increases their jump height by 1.6 times. This is particularly helpful when exploring, as well as for attacking those larger-than-life foes.
19 Don’t Blind Me
Downloads: 250,176
A pet peeve for many gamers is when magic use or other bright lights within the game impede their actual gameplay because of their blinding effects. This is especially annoying during boss fights when players can’t see an AOE attack because of it. The Don’t Blind Me mod aims to resolve this issue by offering different levels of light reduction.
This mod affects spells and skills, as well as weapon enchantments and lanterns carried by characters, allowing players to adventure without missing out on anything because of blinding lights.
20 No Carry Limit And/Or Sprint Stamina adjustments
Downloads: 171,398
Though inventory/carry limits are common within RPGs, it doesn’t make them any more likable to players. The same can be said of stamina gauges, limiting how long players can sprint because of their stamina levels.
5 Best Capcom Games (& 5 Worst), According To Metacritic
Capcom has been around for decades making some memorably great games. But there have also been mistakes made. Here are best and worst by Metacritic.
Players can install the No Carry Limit and/or Sprint Stamina adjustments if they want to remove these annoyances from their gameplay. This mod gives the option of cutting the stamina cost by half or removing it entirely. Additionally, players can increase their weight limit to 10,000.
