1 Final Fantasy 10

Maxing Out The Sphere Grid, Beating Penance, And Completing The Minigames Is A Nightmare

Tidus in Final Fantasy 10

Final Fantasy 10

Released
December 17, 2001

Genre(s)
JRPG

Final Fantasy 10 was arguably the last classic Final Fantasy title before the series started to full-on experiment with its core mechanics, shifting away from turn-based gameplay. The game deftly removes the concept of an overworld, letting players explore curated zones that they must revisit to complete certain minigames and upgrade every character’s Ultimate Weapon.

Along with this, players must also deck out their character with the best abilities to stand a chance against the Dark Aeons, with most people considering the act of maxing out the Sphere Grid for every character downright necessary for players to stand a chance against Penance, one of the toughest superbosses in Final Fantasy history. All of these actions take a lot of time, and a lot of players may not have the patience to attain 100% completion in this game.
