Fairphone’s next repairable wireless earbuds will launch on October 14th

A full reveal of the Fairbuds 2 is planned for October 14th, but we can confirm the new version will carry forward the same focus on repairability that made the original Fairbuds so unique with “seven fully replaceable and modular parts.” The new Fairbuds 2 will also expand their Bluetooth capabilities with added support for Sony’s high-resolution and adaptive LDAC codec. The original Fairbuds only supported the SBC and AAC codecs, similar to Apple’s AirPods.

Fairphone says the Fairbuds 2 will launch in Europe first for €119, followed by a US release where they’ll be available for $119. The first-generation Fairbuds were priced at €149 when they debuted in 2024, or around $162 at the time, but have since come down in price to $99.99 in the US.
