How to Get Strange Buns in Stardew Valley
The Strange Bun is a small dish you can get or make in Stardew Valley, and it can give you +100 Energy and +45 Health. It is a great snack to bring along as you venture through the Mines or even the Volcano Dungeon to make sure you stay alive.

Since most of the methods require you to buy the Strange Bun from a shop that isn’t guaranteed to have it when you need it, the best thing to do is to just go hunting for some Shadow Brute enemies to pick one up from them. Shadow Brutes look like the fourth image above, and can be found from Floor 80 and above in the Mines. Each time you defeat a Shadow Brute, there is a 4 percent chance they will drop a Strange Bun. When venturing through the Mines ourselves, we took down around 15-20 Shadow Brutes before one of them dropped a Strange Bun. It might take a bit of time, but you are bound to come across one eventually.

How to Get the Strange Bun Recipe in Stardew Valley
If you’d rather make your own Strange Bun by using a recipe, there is only one way to do this: befriend Shane. This recipe will require a bit of time to receive, as it will only become available to you after you reach 7 or more hearts with Shane. Luckily, with Shane, his loved gifts are quite easy to get, including Beer and Pizza. You can buy these items from the Stardrop Saloon.
Once you reach 7 hearts with him, you’ll receive the recipe from him in the mail. The required ingredients are:
- 1x Wheat Flour
- 1x Periwinkle
- 1x Void Mayonnaise
To get Wheat Flour, all you will need to do is place some Wheat in the Mill, and you’ll get Wheat Flour in return. Periwinkles can be found by placing a Crab Pot in any freshwater location (lakes and rivers). Void Mayonnaise can be made by placing a Void Egg in a Mayonnaise Machine. You can get Void Eggs from Void Chickens, or you can buy the product directly from Krobus’ Shop in the Sewers for 5000g.
