Palworld‘s Menasting is a Ground and Dark-type Pal that resembles a scorpion, with a hollow body and metallic coating. It is said to be made of pure energy, and hauntingly traps other Pals in its empty body, absorbing them as food. Its purple detail and intimidating red eyes will strike fear in the hearts of anyone who encounters it. According to its Paldeck entry, Menasting’s method of eating releases painful cries from the Pals trapped inside its body. Menasting is large in stature and can pack tremendous power with each attack, but it’s as nimble as it is powerful.
Upon being captured, Menasting’s utility at the base and in the team are both helpful in their own way. Regardless of the choice the player makes, keeping Menasting active in Palworld should never be disregarded. It can wipe the battlefield alone or bring a plentiful bounty back to the base.

Where to Find Menasting
As players begin venturing around Palworld‘s regions, they shouldn’t expect to see Menasting immediately. There are only three known ways of adding Menasting to the Paldeck, and they all involve a thorough playthrough. The Alpha Boss Menasting can be located inside the Dessicated Mineshaft, in the desert region of the map. Players must be well-prepared for the treacherous heat, not to mention a Level 44 Alpha Boss. Be sure to bring plenty of ammunition and firepower, along with a strong Pal as back-up.
Menasting can also be found on the No.2 Wildlife Sanctuary island, which is located at the western edge of the map. The only way to access this area is to have a trusted mount to fly in the skies or travel across water. These wild encounters will also be Level 44 and are considered a rare spawn, so some patience and re-spawning the Pals in the area is necessary.
Finally, Menasting can be hatched from Large Dark Eggs. These can be found in the overworld, or bred using the following combinations:
- Beakon and Mammorest
- Kingpaca and Suzaku
- Mossanda and Shadowbeak
- Nitewing and Paladius
- Penking and Blazamut
- Ragnahawk and Cryolinx
- Relaxaurus and Lyleen
- Reptyro and Grizzbolt
- Sweepa and Frostallion
- Wumpo and Shadowbeak
Bring some cake to the Ranch and start breeding any of these combinations to get a hard-hitting Menasting. This method is also the best way to acquire traits and stats that are more favorable compared to what can be found in the wild.

What Is Menasting Good For?
While Menasting is likely the Dark Element Pal players will want on their teams at all times, its work suitability back at the base isn’t a weakness. Its Level 2 Lumbering and Level 3 Mining can ensure consistent stocks of Wood, Rock, and Ore. Send it to an area with a large accumulation of clusters or trees, and Menasting will happily start smashing away.
Fortunately, there are better options in both work suitabilities, which means Menasting can proudly take its place as a permanent member of any player’s team. Menasting boasts the fourth-best defensive stat in the game, holds an S-Tier combat rating, and serves as one of the best Dark Pals in Palworld. Additionally, its Steel Scorpion Partner Skill boosts the player’s defense, while increasing the amount of dropped items from Electric Pals.
Menasting in Combat
Menasting’s dual typing gives it access to several high-velocity moves, whether it’s from the Ground or Dark elements. Of course, having two different types is a double-edged sword. Menasting is weak against both Dragon and Grass-type moves, while being super-effective against Electric and Normal-type Pals. As Menasting levels up, it will learn the following moves naturally:
- Sand Blast: 40 power; charge time 4 seconds. Hurls sticky mud at an enemy.
- Poison Blast: 30 power; charge time 2 seconds. Hurls poison sludge at an enemy.
- Shadow Burst: 55 power; charge time 10 seconds. Quickly discharges dark energy, damaging those around it.
- Stone Cannon: 70 power, charge time 15 seconds. Digs up a boulder and hurls it at an enemy.
- Nightmare Ball: 100 power; charge time 30 seconds. Creates a giant ball of darkness and hurls it at an enemy.
- Rock Lance: 150 power; charge time 55 seconds. Generates a sharp rock spear under an enemy.
- Dark Laser: 150 power; charge time 55 seconds. Charges dark energy before blasting enemies with a powerful beam.
Menasting’s bread and butter is its exceptional defensive stat, as it is a stalwart against some of the more attack-hungry Pals. When taking on some of the stronger encounters in the game, Menasting’s combat skills are among the best in all Palworld, and it should hold its place in the team for a long time.
