Helldivers 2‘s Stalker enemies have reportedly gained a mutation with the game’s latest update, which allows them to cloak their bodies entirely and sneak up on players. Helldivers 2 released an update several days ago, making numerous balance changes that could shake up the meta. It brought nerfs to some weapons, including the JAR-5 Dominator and the RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher. In addition, the update buffed Automaton enemies, such as Scout Striders and Devastators, slightly increasing their fire rate and durability.
In the latest update, Helldivers 2 enemies like Fog Generators and Gunships have received some balance changes. Gunships’ sideways movement is increased, and Fog Generators (spore spewers on bug-controlled planets) now have more health and armor. Apart from these buffs, the update introduced serious nerfs to some enemies, including Hulk Scorcher, whose flamethrower damage is reduced by 20%.
Helldivers 2 Frustrated by ‘Broken’ Bullet Ricochet Changes
Helldivers 2 players report a spike in accidental casualties after the latest patch’s changes to the game’s bullet ricochet mechanics
As reported by players, Helldivers 2‘s Stalker enemies have gained a new mutation with the latest update, which makes them harder to spot while running between objectives. One player, who goes by E17Omm on Reddit, shared a clip that shows Stalkers popping out of nowhere and catching them off-guard. Normally, these giant insects would leave a silhouette, but now they are completely invisible. True to their names, they sneak up on targets and apply their ambush tactics more easily.
What Are Stalkers in Helldivers 2
Stalkers are cloaked creatures that appear across all Terminid missions in Helldivers 2. They possess melee and ranged attacks, camouflaging themselves to get closer to their targets. The easiest way to deal with these mantis-like insects is to destroy their nests hidden on the map. Like many other Terminid enemies in Helldivers 2, Stalkers have a weakness against explosive weapons and shotguns.
Helldivers 2 features a wide array of intergalactic enemies with their unique method of attack. For instance, some use their tongues to reach their targets, while others fire acid artillery to deal damage from a distance. Thankfully for players, every enemy has a weakness they can exploit to take them down more easily.
Helldivers 2 players would be wise to use decent loadouts, which consist of meta-defining weapons and stratagems, to finish off the toughest enemies efficiently. These weapons and stratagems are unlocked by completing challenges and spending Medals at Warbonds. Speaking of Warbonds, the Democratic Detonation is now available in Helldivers 2, offering players a sticky grenade and a marksman rifle that they can use to tweak their loadouts.
