Although Aqua has some bad characteristics, she is quite useful in some situations and has been able to save the party from danger even though she makes some questionable decisions that cause them problems later on. All Aqua wants is to be treated like a goddess, spoilt with luxurious things, be praised, and most importantly, eat and drink.

In this new parallel world, things are not as easy as Kazuma and Aqua want, but they want things to change, so they are putting in the work. Their first quest is to kill the giant toads that are in their mating season, and Kazuma is doing all he can to defeat these humongous creatures while Aqua is being a petty goddess from a distance. She ends up getting eaten by a toad, and Kazuma saves her.
Angered by the fact that she is dirty and has a supposed reputation as a goddess to uphold, she charges out to defeat a toad. She runs with speed, shouting at the creature, gaining momentum to attack the toad with her ‘god blow,’ only to hilariously fail at the very end. She is eaten and saved by Kazuma once again.
7 “Please Lend Me Money! Just Enough To Pay My Tab Is Plenty”
Season 1, Episode 4: “Explosion Magic For This Formidable Enemy!”
Aqua is hell-bent on retaining her position as a goddess and acting as one, even though she does not have enough resources for the lifestyle. Just a few episodes in, and fans can already see that Aqua loves spending money, eating, and drinking. Her share from quests is enough for her, but she does not have an ounce of financial management in her, resulting in her squandering money. No doubt, she finds herself in debt, and the people she owes are ready to take her away.
Aqua goes to meet Kazuma to beg, but Kazuma is hesitant as he is saving the money so that he can move out of the stables and live a proper and befitting life. However, Aqua is quite persuasive and even brings awareness to his suspicious movements at night. Scared and not wanting to be labeled as a pervert, he loans Aqua money to pay off her debt, and she is happy because she can finally clear her tab of 100,000 eris and continue her reckless living.
6 “For Someone As Great As Me, Reviving Fallen Adventurers Is A Piece Of Cake!”
Season 1, Episode 6: “A Conclusion To This Worthless Fight!”
Aqua is a goddess who can perform healing magic. During the battle with Verdia, a general for the Demon Lord, Sedol, Heinz, and Galil are slain. These three are adventurers and acquaintances of Darkness. Darkness prayed and wished she could see them one last time for a final drink, and thanks to Aqua, the great goddess of water, her prayers came true.
Aqua cast a resurrection spell on them and brought them back to life. Aqua is great, and she knows it, which is why she bragged about her abilities to Darkness with a smile on her face.
5 “You Should Exalt Me More! All Of You Should Praise Me, Praise Me And Spoil Me Rotten”
Season 1, Episode 7: “A Second Death In This Freezing Season!”
It is hard not to acknowledge Aqua’s role in defeating Verdia, as her mage-class water spell helped them claim victory. However, the same way she helped is the same way she put them into debt, as the flood caused the city great damage. Kazuma and his party are burdened with a debt of 40 million eris, while Aqua just wants to have money to spend.
KonoSuba: Every Main Character, Ranked In Terms Of Strength

4 “I Didn’t Look. Whenever I Heard You Starting Up, I’d Turn The Other Way And Try To Sleep”
Season 2, Episode 3: “Peace For The Master Of The Labyrinth!”
Kazuma, Aqua, and Megumin took up a quest to explore the newly discovered passage in Keele’s dungeon. Kazuma and Aqua enter, leaving Megumin outside the dungeon. With Kazuma’s new skills that he bought, he can tell when danger is lurking and can see clearly since the dungeon is dark. As Aqua accompanies him, he worries that she cannot see, but she constantly assures him that she can since she is a goddess.
After almost being attacked by a monster, Kazuma realizes that Aqua can see clearly in the dark, and he brings up their time sleeping in the stables. Apparently, Kazuma had difficulties sleeping, and he would sometimes soothe himself, thinking Aqua was asleep and unaware. However, Aqua, the great and ever-considerate goddess, tells Kazuma that she never looked at him whenever he made movements at night and would turn the other way and try to sleep. This statement relieves Kazuma, and he genuinely thanks Aqua for her actions.
3 “If Anything, There Should Be Fewer Monsters In That Dungeon Thanks To Me!”
Season 2, Episode 5: “Servitude For This Masked Knight!”
One thing Aqua will do is cause trouble without even being aware of it, and when her attention is drawn to it, she will defend herself and demand praise and exaltation. After their quest at Keele’s dungeon, more monsters are seen around the city, and since the authorities still suspect Kazuma, they immediately point fingers at him, but he is innocent. After questioning his party members, he realizes that Aqua is at fault because of the magic circle she drew.
KonoSuba: Best Female Characters, Ranked
KonoSuba’s most recognizable female characters all bring something to the table. Here’s how they stack up.
The magic circle she drew has powers that attract monsters, and it is what is causing monsters to appear all over the village. It is safe to say that Kazuma is truly tired and constantly frustrated by Aqua and her actions, as she fails to think ahead and does whatever she feels like, expecting praise in the end.
2 “Time To Be Fawned Over For Being An Arch Priest!”
Season 2, Episode 8: “Sightseeing In This Pitiful City!”
Going to Arcanretia was the best decision an attention-seeking goddess like Aqua could have made. On getting to Arcanretia, which happens to be the home of the Axis Order, the villagers were already fawning over Aqua for having beautiful hair, and they were praising her, which is something she absolutely adores. The rest, Darkness, Megumin, Kazuma, and Wiz, drag Aqua away from the crowd so that they can find their inn and settle down.
However, it is not long after that Aqua decides to leave and go to the church, as it was the church members who were praising her. Fun for her is being praised, exalted, admired, spoilt, and overall, just being treated like a goddess.
1 “I Will Share Holy Words That Will Help You Avoid Demonic Temptation. Eris Pads Her Chest”
Season 2, Episode 9: “A Goddess For This Corrupt Hot Springs Town!”
Aqua hates Eris, and in Arcanretia, a place where they are heavily devoted to the Axis Order, Eris is not accepted, which makes Aqua feel at home. After spending less than a day in Arcanretia, she takes up the role of a priest, listening to her followers confess their sins and guiding them to forgiveness. A certain follower comes crying to Aqua, claiming he has sinned because Eris’ chest is leading him astray and making him have unholy thoughts.
Aqua is not moved by this; instead, she calmly tells her followers that he is forgiven and that if he feels unholy thoughts coming in about Eris, he should just remember that she pads her chest. Aqua even encourages him to share the news with others, and the devoted man leaves feeling relieved and happy to be free from Eris’ evil.
