After completing Nine Sol‘s narrative-focused introduction, players will find themselves at the entrance to an underground facility. From this position, fans must venture forth, and their first goal should be to collect the Tai-Chi Kick ability. For those players who may get lost as they attempt to find that ability, this walkthrough contains full details on how to get through the beginning of Nine Sols.
This walkthrough ends with the acquisition of Tai-Chi Kick, and it is not intended for players who have already earned that ability.

11 Best Metroidvanias, Ranked
The Metroidvania is one of the most popular genres in indie gaming, even bleeding over into AAA titles. These games represent the best of the genre.
Nine Sols: Where to Go First
Nine Sols begins with a very linear section in which players must navigate through the Apeman Facility (Monitoring), ultimately exiting the room through its bottom-right corner after encountering a machine that is delivering a warning. This section serves as a basic tutorial, providing information about parrying, dodging, and more, and it is expected that indie video game fans will get through it quite easily. That said, the video that is above should prove useful to players who get stuck in the first room.
After passing through Apeman Facility (Monitoring), players will find themselves in Apeman Facility (Elevator). Here, Metroidvania fans should rest at the Root Node before continuing to the right, using their grappling hook as needed. Once again, the path through this room is quite linear, and players who are lost are advised to reference the video that is above.
Players that follow the path through Apeman Facility (Elevator) will ultimately encounter a device that refills their health and pipe, and there is a mini-boss, Red Tiger Elite Baichang, just to the right of that machine. While this foe is not extremely difficult to defeat, players will need to use well-timed parries and dodges to counter his attacks. Upon beating Baichang, fans of Souls-likes will receive a Stasis Jade, and they should interact with the elevator in the room and select “New Kunlun Central Hall” to ascend.
Once the elevator reaches New Kunlun Central Hall, players should go right to trigger a short conversation with Ruyi. Fans of hard video games should then continue to the right and pass through the door that is situated between two large statues. The Four Seasons Pavillion is beyond that door, and players should travel to its far right side.
Here, fans will find a large machine that indicates that Mystic Nymph decryption is required, and there is a locked door to its right. Fans can get on the right side of that locked door by using their grappling hook to climb to the platform that is above, and they should interact with the small circular device to receive the Mystic Nymph.
Players should now activate the Mystic Nymph and move it to the top-left corner of the small room in which they are standing. There is an opportunity for the Nymph to enter the wall in that position, and fans should hack the button that they find inside to unlock the door. Players should then return to the large machine to the left, use the Mystic Nymph to hack it at its top, and interact with its base to initiate another conversation with Ruyi and obtain the Jade System.
Fans of games with unique art styles can now spend a bit of time exploring the Four Seasons Pavillion, and they should make sure to interact with the large Root Node that is found there. That action will transport Yi to an area with Leon, a character that will provide an item that can be used for fast travel.
With this preliminary trip to the Four Seasons Pavillion resolved, players should exit the room, continue to the right, and descend a single flight of stairs to encounter a locked door on the right. This door can be unlocked by sending the Mystic Nymph into the wall that is above it, and players should interact with the large platform that is on the other side to descend.
When the platform comes to a stop, players should go left and travel downward to reach a terminal that they can hack. Fans of 2D video games should then follow the path to the left, descend when that becomes the only option, and use the two moving blocks to access a small corridor on the right. At the end of that corridor, players should climb the wall on the left, go right, and interact with the Root Node to be transported to a special area.
In this area, players will receive a tutorial on Tai-Chi Kick, an ability that can be used to vault from green orbs and counter certain attacks. Fans will receive that ability permanently upon completion of the tutorial, making it possible for them to reach areas that were previously inaccessible.
Nine Sols is available for PC.
