The JAK Purifier is an attachment added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 that harkens back to the days of the original Black Ops. It’s an under-barrel flamethrower that can cook opponents at close range to a satisfying degree.

Vortex is a new 6-player mode in MW3 with some strange Zombies mechanics that might confuse players; here’s what they need to know.
Players who love to duck and weave in CQB can use the JAK Purifier as a fun alternative to MW3’s best shotguns. However, this won’t be available to everybody immediately, and players will have to put in some work before they can start toasting the competition.
Updated July 24, 2024 by Marc Santos: Modern Warfare 3 is already well on its way to its fifth season, and as such, the JAK Purifier is no longer available from the battle pass. However, much like the rest of the guns and attachments included in the game’s seasonal offerings, this underbarrel flamethrower can still be obtained via regular gameplay, and it will continue to be so even upon the arrival of future MW3 seasons.
How to Unlock the JAK Purifier
The JAK Purifier was added during Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 along with the RAM-7 and XRK Stalker. Previously, players had to reach Sector A14 of the battle pass to get this underbarrel flamethrower, but now that Season 1 is over, all players need to do to unlock the JAK Purifier is to grind out Armory Challenges.
To do this, go to the main Multiplayer menu, then select View Challenges below the list of Daily Challenges. From the new menu that pops up, select Armory Unlocks, then scroll until you see the JAK Purifier. Activate it to set it as your current Armory Unlock. Once it’s active, grind out five Daily Challenges to unlock the flamethrower. You can unlock this in one day by completing all three Daily Challenges and either winning two games or completing two more challenges in the Zombies or battle royale modes.
Unfortunately, the JAK Purifier cannot be equipped on all weapons. It can only be attached to new assault rifles (except the MW3’s FR 5.56), the BAS-B, MTZ-762, Sidewinder battle rifles, and the Riveter shotgun. Some newer rifles, such as the BP50 and SOA Subverter, can use the JAK Purifier, but the BAL-27 cannot.
Players who miss any of the JAK Aftermarket parts during a season can still unlock them by doing this same process. Pick the ones you want to get from the Armory Unlocks menu, then grind out a few games until the attachment becomes available.
