Settle The Debate – DC or Marvel?

It’s a tough one and there are a plethora of arguments on both sides. I don’t have a great load of experience with the comics themselves, although I have read a few, but I have immersed myself with just about any movie and video game from both Marvel and DC I could get my hands on. At first, I thought Marvel was leagues ahead of DC in the cinematic world, but DC were producing far better games, particularly around the time of the Batman: Akrham series. However, Marvel have picked up the quality of their games quite a lot recently, and not just with the Spider-Man series. I thought Midnight Suns was brilliant, even for someone who doesn’t play a lot of turn-based games, and they could really tip the scales in their favor if they can nail upcoming titles like Wolverine. From where I’m standing, Marvel has more to offer me, so I tend to side with them.

The angrier the Hulk gets, the more powerful he becomes, turning him into an unstoppable brute. In his base form, there are not many heroes or villains who could effectively challenge the Hulk. With added powers, he becomes impossible to beat and capable of destroying worlds. Here are 5 of the most insanely powerful versions of the Hulk.

5 Starship

Bruce Piloting The Hulk

Professor Hulk Marvel Comics

  • Alias: The Smashtronaut
  • Why This Version Is Strong: Augmentation

A rare intelligent version of Hulk who bears some similarities to the type of manifestations of the Hulk which keep Bruce Banner’s intellect such as Professor Hulk as seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Starship Hulk sees Bruce Banner having figured out how to cybernetically alter his Hulk form.

In a way, the beast that is this version of the Hulk, could be considered a vessel or a spaceship, hence the name Starship. Since Bruce Banner commands the Hulk from within his head, his physical form exists within it and piloting the form. Though a highly strange and unorthodox procedure, as was brought attention to in certain comic issues, this is undoubtedly a highly powerful version of the Hulk. Starship Hulk had all of the strength of a high-level Hulk iteration whilst keeping a level of intellect and sanity.

He has been shown to be capable of ripping through many Hulkbusters, was unphased by the simultaneous repulsor blasts these dangerous missions sent his way, and could quickly regenerate after having an arm torn off. It’s clear as to why this version was playfully labeled ‘The Smashtronaut’ by fans in online respect threads.

4 Worldbreaker

A Vengeful Beast

Worldbreaker Hulk In Front Of Planet

  • Alias: World War Hulk
  • Why This Version Is Strong: Radiation Enhancement

One of the most famous versions of the Hulk, and naturally, one of the most powerful and menacing. Worldbreaker Hulk is one of the most physically strong Hulks who has been stated to possess the intelligence of a warrior, with the ‘Awesome Hulk Wiki’ stating it to be one of the most dominating versions of the Hulk to have ever been seen.

A team of Marvel’s smartest and most unscrupulous heroes, the Illuminati, had sent the Hulk off-planet. With the anger of his banishment and the death of a pregnant wife fueling him, Hulk would grow stronger than ever after absorbing the radiation levels from Planet Sakaar during his off-planet banishment. He returned to Earth with a vengeance.

After making friends with a series of comrades he had made during that time known as the Warbound, Worldbreaker Hulk returns with plans to hurt the Illuminati, using his enhanced powers to get revenge against all who wronged him. What resulted was a rampage like no other, with a series of heroes such as Black Bolt, Dr. Strange, Iron Man and Namor the Sub-Mariner being killed, sorely defeated, or barely spared.

3 Titan

An Angered Evolution

Marvels Avengers Apology Hulk AIM Robot

  • Alias: The Hulk’s Hulk
  • Why This Version Is Strong: An Extra Transformation

As all know, when Bruce Banner gets angry, he turns into the Hulk. What is less commonly known is that when the Hulk gets angry, he turns into Titan Hulk, an improved, enhanced version of the Hulk if ever there was one. An unstoppable agent of pure carnage and chaos. Among the largest versions of the Hulk there is, the jagged beast that is Titan Hulk is powerful based on size and appearance alone.

He’s a creature fueled by unbridled explosive rage with glowing eyes that signify his power. He glows with a red energy in general, and is notable due to being one of the few versions of Hulk to be without hair. Titan Hulk makes the standard version of the Incredible Hulk look tame, his main aim in life to destroy and harm to the greatest extent he possibly can. He has the Hulk’s superhuman strength, superhuman speed and gamma dispersion, a power that allows him to distribute radiation from his body.

Why The Hulk Could Be Marvel Rivals’ Most Unique Hero

The Hulk is one of Marvel’s most famous heroes, and he looks to be in line to become the most unique hero in Marvel Rivals as well.

Should Banner sustain any injuries by dusk, the Immortal Hulk will surface, as the transformation only happens at night. That doesn’t stop him from being an absolute powerhouse. Among Immortal Hulk’s array of abilities include the ability to deplete the gamma energy from similar beings. He can also emit a giant gamma burst powerful enough to destroy entity’s as strong as Dormammu. The abilities of the Immortal Hulk go from your standard Hulk powers, to highly advanced gamma utilizing techniques, to the downright strange, such as the ability to sense liars, as mentioned on the Hulk wiki.

If he was just immortal, that would already make this Hulk one of the strongest. But the extra abilities cement his place on the list.

1 Breaker Of Worlds

The Ultimate Planet Buster

Breaker of Worlds Hulk Flying In Space with radiation

  • Aliases: God Hulk
  • Why This Version Is Strong: Soul Possession

An immensely potent and powerful Hulk that could be described as the improved version of the Immortal Hulk. The image of a glowing Hulk, floating through space amongst planets with glowing green energy protruding from out of his eyes shows the levels of power being discussed here. With this Hulk, The One Below All rid him of his soul and possessed him in its place. A possession that brought on a chaos unprecedented even for the most powerful and destructive of Hulks.

Some of the most powerful supers in the Marvel universe such as Galactus, Mister Immortal, and Franklin Richards, were all slain by this universe’s Hulk. The One Below All’s seizing of the Hulk turned him into a being capable of acting as Galactus himself, his power dwarfing even that of the planet-consuming giant. Often labeled as the “Hulk God”, Breaker of World Hulk is capable of destroying planets, universes and galaxies, possessing the size and strength needed to complete such feats.

Not to mention that he is practically immortal. Of all the incarnations of Hulk in all the universes, you’d find it hard to find a more powerful, capable version of the Hulk around.
