Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 brought with it a plethora of Marvel-themed content. Players diving in can get their hands on powerful Marvel-themed items like Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets, along with exploring unique locations like Doomstadt and The Raft.

While dropping at the Marvel-themed locations in Fortnite, fans may come across Doom Guards, NPC characters that can be quite hostile when provoked. Though the Doom Guards are bound to be a great method for getting some of the various quests done this season, players can actually convert them into friendly combatants to help them on the battlefield and this guide will show them how.

How to Convert Doom Guards

Doom Guards are NPC characters that can be found in major POIs such as Castle Doom, Doom’s Courtyard, and Doomstadt. To convert a Doom Guard in Fortnite, players will first have to down them. Once done so, players can simply revive the Doom Guard just like they would with a teammate.

Upon being revived, the Doom Guard will fight alongside the player, and function just like a hired NPC until they are eliminated.

Only one Doom Guard can be given a second chance per player. This means that solo players can only have one Doom Guard on their team, though players on other playlists can have multiple if their teammates revive their own Doom Guard.

How to Recruit Henchmen at Dig Sites

Besides the Doom Guards located at Doom-dominated locations, there are also several dig sites, which are guarded by Doom Henchmen. To discover the dig sites, players will have to head to the following locations:

  • Northwest of The Underworld
  • Northeast of Rebel’s Roost
  • Southeast of Doomstadt
  • Grand Glacier
  • South of Grim Gate
  • Northeast of Nitrodrome
  • Summit Temple
  • Brawler’s Battleground

Digsites usually have one Dr. Doom or Avengers Chest and three henchmen. Players can eliminate these henchmen and they will continue to respawn.

Unfortunately, for now, the recruiting mechanic remains unavailable so gamers trying to finish the “Hire characters or recruit defeated henchmen” (Week 2 Quests) will have to complete it by hiring NPCs on the Battle Royale map.
