Overwatch 2‘s recently announced collaboration with Japan’s RED Tokyo Tower digital theme park has spawned some new hero looks fans are hoping get brought into the game. Currently, Overwatch 2 fans are enjoying Season 12’s Egyptian mythology battle pass theme, which added a Mythic skin for Reaper, as well as new skins for heroes like Doomfist and Illari. Disappointingly, Egyptian heroes Ana and Pharah were left off the battle pass, but received new cosmetics in Overwatch 2‘s in-game shop.

Last week, Overwatch 2 announced a peculiar collaboration with Tokyo, Japan’s digital theme park, RED Tokyo Tower. This IRL event is looking to bring a host of Overwatch 2 merchandise to Tokyo Tower mainly featuring the game’s popular Japanese heroes Hanzo, Genji, and Kiriko. Collectibles include T-Shirts, buttons, posters, desk mats, and an assortment of other types of fun items for fans to purchase or win as part of the event. Interestingly, unlike other crossovers Overwatch 2 has done, such as the LE SSERAFIM or Porche collabs, this RED Tokyo Tower event won’t result in any new items or skins being added to the game.

Naturally, fans of these Overwatch heroes on Reddit believe these looks would make excellent skins in the game, and are hoping Blizzard adds them at some point soon.

Overwatch 2 Fans Want RED Tokyo Tower Outfits As In-Game Skins

Some details of these stylish Overwatch outfits suggest they may never make their way into the actual game as skins. For one, Lucio’s look does away with his iconic skates and puts him in a pair of normal shoes instead. As for D.Va, Tracer, and Kiriko, their new looks, specifically their color patterns, are so similar to their base Overwatch 2 skins that it’s hard to imagine Blizzard adding them to the game. Even so, these skins would undoubtedly be hits for the fans of these heroes. Though nothing in the RED Tokyo Tower collaboration suggests it, it’s still possible that Blizzard could be planning to add these outfits to the game at some point in the future.

Overwatch 2‘s RED Tokyo Tower event isn’t the only collab it has going on, as its World of Warcraft crossover is set to go live this week. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft, the event is set to bring several new skins to Overwatch 2, including Lich King Reinhardt, Sylvanas Windrunner Widowmaker, Thrall Zenyatta, and more.
