This new remaster provides a complete graphical overhaul of the original zombie action classic, giving Frank West a makeover and a new voice actor in the process.
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is a standalone adventure that was released in 2011. With Dead Rising 2 having introduced a new protagonist in Chuck Greene, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record saw the return of fan-favorite Frank West. Interestingly, instead of telling a new story with Frank, Off the Record features essentially the exact same narrative as Dead Rising 2, but simply replaces Chuck with Frank West.

With that said, it’s easy to imagine Capcom doing an “Off the Record” mode in the potential Dead Rising 2 Deluxe Remaster that Swaps Chuck with Frank West. Capcom’s survey also asked fans whether they’d want to see Deluxe Remasters of games from some of its other franchises, like Dino Crisis, Onimusha, Lost Planet, Darkstalkers, and even Resident Evil. It seems like the Resident Evil franchise is beyond remasters at this point with all the critically acclaimed remakes Capcom has done in recent years, but a Dino Crisis revival is certainly in high demand for many Capcom fans.
Since Capcom is just now conducting a survey about what fans would want to see for the future Dead Rising, the next Deluxe Remaster, if it happens, is likely years away. As for now, although Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster‘s initial launch was digital only, fans on Xbox and PlayStation can look forward to the release of its physical version later this Fall, on November 8.
