Highlights

  • Pokemon GO player catches extremely rare Galarian Zapdos with the worst possible stats.
  • The rare legendary has zero stars in all categories, an even rarer version that the community has called a Nundo.
  • Many have congratulated the trainer as many collectors would love to have this rare version alongside other shinies and hundos.

Whether lucky or not, one Pokemon GO player manages to catch an extremely rare legendary Pokemon with a full zero-star stat line. As a live service title, Pokemon GO receives continuous updates and content infusions, an element which has no doubt kept players logging in year after year. Even though Pokemon GO has seen plenty of controversy since its launch in 2016, the free to play mobile game remains very popular with many players.

One of the biggest appealing elements is the continually expanding PokeDex, with Niantic constantly bringing more and more creatures into the game. However, for many fans, part of the experience is finding unique versions of Pokemon, either through catching rare shiny variants or ones with perfect stat rolls, which the community calls hundos. In fact, one player recently showed off an incredibly rare Frigibax hundo from a hatched egg, while another Pokemon GO player showed off something on the completely opposite end of the spectrum.

Pokemon GO Player Gets Incredibly Luck While Taking a Walk

A Pokemon GO player has incredible luck with the captures made while out on a walk and impresses other trainers by sharing the result.

Over on the Pokemon GO subReddit, a user named Chacw showed off a recently caught Galarian Zapdos, a traditionally rare spawn typically tied to using the Daily Adventure Incense. However, the most surprising element to this rare catch wasn’t the Zapdos itself, but the fact that it was the worst possible version of the legendary possible. After appraising the Zapdos, it was revealed that it had zero stats in all three categories, giving it the worst possible IV spread for that type of Pokemon.

While the reveal may have been disappointing for many players, a perfect zero-star legendary is about as rare as finding one with a perfect roll or even a shiny, which means that there are some Pokemon GO players who value collecting them. Many of the comments on the post seemed to agree, with some users commenting how much of a flex catching this ‘nundo’ was, while others agreed that while it was a bad version of the legendary, it was still incredibly rare.

While feats like this typically come down to a bit of luck, others put in a bit of time and effort to complete unique accomplishments. One player in particular recently completed the Kanto region’s Shiny Lucky Pokedex after spending over a year working on it, which entails catching all 150 original Pokemon as shiny variants. Though the cherry on top is that each one is also considered Lucky, a modifier that only has a chance of being given by trading with another player. Mew is the exception to this rule, considering Mythic Pokemon can’t be traded.
