Key Takeaways

  • Version 5.2 of Genshin Impact will introduce Ochkanatlan.
  • According to a leak, the new map expansion will include areas like Warped Branch Cliff, Mirror Wall Mountain, and Ochkanatlan, expanding playable borders.

Genshin Impact is introducing Ochkanatlan in Version 5.2, and a recent leak teases the exact size and shape of the new map expansion. While Version 5.1 will only feature the Archon Quest, Genshin Impact is expected to add two new regions to Natlan in the subsequent two patches. Notably, the Flowerfeather Clan and the Masters of the Night Wind will make their debut in Version 5.2, and will thus allow players to unlock the Natlan reputation glider.

Two new characters will join Genshin Impact during the same patch as well, with Ororon representing the Masters of the Night Wind, and Chasca representing the Flowerfeather Clan. According to the latest data obtained from the beta servers, Ororon will be a 4-Star Electro Support – providing powerful buffs to the Electro-Charged reaction, while dealing decent damage off-field. Conversely, Chasca is designed as a 5-Star Anemo Hypercarry, who will be able to apply other types of elemental damage based on her teammates. Both characters will also have exploration abilities that match with their tribe’s Saurian, which will give players an alternative way to explore the new zone.

As explained and drawn by Uncle Teyvat, the Natlan map expansion for Version 5.2 will feature three new areas: Warped Branch Cliff, Mirrow Wall Mountain, and Ochkanatlan. Given that the symbol of the Masters of the Night Wind is a warped tree, one can safely assume the first two areas feature the settlements of the two upcoming tribes. On the other hand, Ochkanatlan is a fallen civilization that predates modern Natlan, and will most likely play a major role in the next set of World Quests.

Genshin Impact Version 5.2 New Locations

  • Warped Branch Cliff
  • Mirrow Wall Mountain
  • Ochkanatlan

The shape of the new zone lines up with the most recent topography map for Natlan, which also shows the infamous Mare Jivari as a future Genshin Impact area. While Version 5.2 will not feature Mare Jivari, it will expand the playable borders to the northwest by a significant amount. Warped Branch Cliff will be connected to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame from its western edge, while Mirror Wall Mountain will bridge Ochkanatlan with Huitzli Hill. The jagged terrain of Ochkanatlan implies that Genshin Impact players will need to employ the exploration skills granted by the two new Saurians to enter the ruins of the Cinder City.

With Version 5.2 expected to launch on November 20, 2024, Genshin Impact players have some time to stock up on Primogems and explore the current zones of Natlan. While the former will be useful for pulling Chasca and Ororon on the Event Banners, the latter will give players extra Primogems in Genshin Impact via a new reward structure. Every subsequent region introduced to Genshin Impact, including the one in Version 5.2, will award up to 400 Primogems to any player who reaches certain exploration milestones within the first two patches of its debut.
