Back to All Characters

As Genshin Impact players continue to explore the Natlan region, they’ll find that unlike the previous update, version 5.0, which introduced three new characters, version 5.1 only introduces one: Xilonen. Despite wielding the less popular Geo element, Xilonen is a promising support unit with the potential to rival even Kazuha’s utility in certain team compositions. In fact, they can even be used together effectively.

Best Free Open-World Games To Play Right Now

Open-world games are all the rage when it comes to immersive gaming experiences. These are the best ones to play for free.

This makes Xilonen a tempting character to invest resources in, whether through constellations or a premium weapon, even though she’s perfectly strong at C0 (constellation level 0). However, as a 5-star unit, pursuing constellations or a premium weapon requires a significant investment of Primogems. While both options are valuable, players should carefully consider their resource allocation to maximize Xilonen’s potential. Here’s a breakdown of Xilonen’s constellations to help players make informed decisions and get the most out of this exciting new character in Genshin Impact.

Are Xilonen Constellations Worth It In Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact Xilonen kit revealed

Fortunately, for players looking to enhance Xilonen’s support capabilities, only one constellation truly stands out: her second constellation (C2). The other constellations offer moderate or minor improvements to her utility. This makes C2 an excellent stopping point for players who want to invest further in Xilonen. Otherwise, players should simply stay at C0.

Players should however keep in mind that reaching C2 can be quite resource-intensive. As an alternative, players might consider obtaining her signature weapon. Both C2 and the signature weapon provide comparable boosts to team DPS, though they achieve this through different means. In most cases, acquiring the signature weapon should require fewer Primogems than reaching C2, especially with the recent quality-of-life updates to the weapon banner. Additionally, if players plan to use Xilonen as a DPS character, Chiori’s weapon, which will also be featured on the weapon banner, is a strong option. However, it’s worth noting that some free-to-play weapon options are viable alternatives for Xilonen.

C1 – Sabbatical Phrase

Effect

Xilonen’s Nightsoul point and Phlogiston consumption in her Nightsoul’s Blessing state is decreased by 30%, and her Nightsoul point time limit is extended by 45%. Additionally, when Xilonen’s Source Samples are active, she can also increase nearby active characters’ interruption resistance.

Importance

Medium

Xilonen’s first constellation (C1) is more of a quality-of-life improvement than a direct damage boost for the team. It primarily focuses on reducing Nightsoul point and Phlogiston consumption, effectively extending the duration of her buffs. This is also beneficial for exploration, given her unique ability to easily climb terrain, similar to Kachina, since they are from the same tribe.

The secondary effect of C1, increased interruption resistance for nearby characters, can be helpful for characters who struggle with maintaining their actions during combat, such as Neuvillette. This synergy is particularly useful if players haven’t obtained Neuvillette’s C1 or aren’t using other characters like Xingqui, whose Rain Swords provide strong interruption resistance.

Ultimately, C1 is a worthwhile consideration for players who plan to invest in Xilonen’s second constellation as well, otherwise not as worth to consider on its own.

C2 – Chiucue Mix

Effect

Xilonen’s Geo Source Sample will always remain active. Additionally, when her Source Samples activate, all nearby party members will gain effects corresponding to the active Source Sample that matches their Elemental Type: ·Geo: DMG +50%. ·Pyro: ATK +45%. ·Hydro: Max HP +45%. ·Cryo: CRIT DMG +60%. ·Electro: Restore 25 Energy, decrease Elemental Burst CD by 6s.

Importance

Priority

Xilonen’s second constellation (C2) provides a direct boost to her support utility by offering additional buffs to specific party members, excluding Anemo and Dendro units. This makes it highly valuable for those planning to use her with characters like Neuvillette or ATK scaling Pyro units like Arlecchino. It also allows players to use Xilonen as a support with Geo main DPS characters more effectively, such as with Itto or Navia, as a Geo source sample will always be active despite her going off-field. Otherwise, Xilonen wouldn’t have been able to benefit Geo compositions with her support utilities to the same extend.

C4 – Suchitl’s Trance

genshin impact reveals xilonen for version 5.1

Effect

After Xilonen uses Yohual’s Scratch, she will grant all nearby party members the Blooming Blessing effect for 15s. Characters with Blooming Blessing deal 65% of Xilonen’s DEF as increased Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG. This effect will be removed after triggering 6 times or when the duration ends. When you hit more than one opponent, trigger counts will be consumed based on the number of opponents hit. The counts for each party member with Blooming Blessing are counted independently.

Importance

Low

Xilonen’s fourth constellation (C4) appears decent at first glance, but its practical value is limited. While it offers a damage increase for your team’s attacks, the restriction of 6 triggers within a 15-second window, coupled with the high cost of obtaining this constellation, makes it a less desirable investment. The overall damage increase it provides is minimal compared to the effort required. Therefore, players shouldn’t prioritize C4 unless they are committed to acquiring all of Xilonen’s constellations.

C6 – Imperishable Night Carnival

Xilonen Splash Art

Effect

When Xilonen is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, when she sprints, leaps, or uses Normal or Plunging Attacks, she will gain Imperishable Night’s Blessing, ignoring the limitations of her Nightsoul’s Blessing state and increasing the DMG dealt by her Normal and Plunging Attacks for 5s. During this time: ·Her Nightsoul’s Blessing time limit countdown will be paused. Xilonen’s Nightsoul points, Phlogiston, and Stamina will not decrease, and when her Nightsoul points reach the maximum, her Nightsoul’s Blessing state will not end either. ·Xilonen deals 300% of her DEF as increased Normal and Plunging Attack DMG while in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state. ·She heals nearby party members for 120% of her DEF every 1.5s. She can gain 1 Imperishable Night’s Blessing once every 15s.

Importance

Medium

Xilonen’s C6 is a long read, which may be confusing to some players. However, it essentially enables Xilonen to be a better on-field DPS and healer, while not contributing to her off-field support abilities. Xilonen will be able to remain on the field longer with an extended Nightsoul Blessing state, deal more DMG through her normal attacks, and heal all party members more often. Overall, it’s quite similar to Kazuha’s C6, which also grants him much more DPS and on-field utility. However, for most players interested in her support utility instead of her DPS potential, it will not be worthwhile.
