Honkai: Star Rail has released its 2.6 update titled “Annals of Pinecany’s Mappou Age” and players can participate in its limited-time events for a free Light Cone, Stellar Jades, and more plentiful rewards. In Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.6, fans travel back to Penacony for a new adventure with some familiar faces and new characters.

In a previous trailer for Honkai: Star Rail‘s 2.6 update, fans caught a glimpse of the Trailblazer’s next mission, which sees the Astral Express crew becoming students in Penacony. The trailer also revealed the in-game debut of some new characters, including the playable 5-star Rappa and the long-rumored Mr. Reca. Now, the wait is finally over as the patch has rolled out on October 23. Aside from these new additions, the update will feature three limited-time events with rewards, and HoYoverse has confirmed each of their dates and durations.

Honkai: Star Rail – Should You Pull For Rappa Or Imbibitor Lunae?

Both Imaginary characters in Honkai: Star Rail have their own playstyles and suitable teammates, so players should choose accordingly.

As confirmed in an official HoYoLab blog entry, Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.6 brings the sixth Trailblaze Continuance mission “Penacony – Banana Outrage: Battles Without Ninja and Humanity,” set in a new area called Penacony Paperfold University College. The quest will be permanently available after the 2.6 update and players can unlock it after reaching Trailblaze Level 21. The update also debuts Rappa, a 5-star Imaginary unit following the path of Erudition. Her signature 5-star Light Cone is called “Ninjutsu Inscription: Dazzling Evilbreaker.” Rappa is featured in Honkai: Star Rail‘s current banners, along with Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae. Version 2.6 introduces two new 4-star Light Cones: “Dream’s Montage (Abundance)” and “Ninja Record: Sound Hunt (Destruction).” The latter can be obtained for free by participating in the “Sound Hunt Ninjutsu Inscription” event.

All events will grant plenty of Stellar Jades, XP materials, and other items useful for combat. Honkai: Star Rail 2.6 also debuts the third Simulated Universe DLC named “Unknowable Domain.” This permanent gameplay mode gives players Stellar Jades, Star Rail Passes, and other items upon completion. It is unlocked by clearing World 5 from the original Simulated Universe. Finally, the update introduces new enemies, such as the boss Wonder Forest’s Banacademic Office Staff. Although Version 2.6 has only just launched, fans are already excited about Sunday’s release during Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 and several leaks of his kit have surfaced within the community, too.

While Rappa has become playable in the Honkai: Star Rail 2.6 update, and both Sunday and Fugue are also on their way, HoYoverse has not confirmed that Mr. Reca will join the roster. Even though Mr. Reca stars in the newest Trailblaze Continuance and features in two 4-star Light Cones, it seems he won’t become playable in the foreseeable future. On the other hand, some Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.7 leaks suggest that players will get a free 4-star character of their choice.
