Frigga is Marvel Snap‘s first spotlight cache release for November, launching the War of the Nine Realms season alongside the META-shifting Season Pass card, Surtur. Cost- and Power-wise, she’s a balanced 3-3 character with a unique ability to regenerate the last card you played, copying it to your hand when possible.

Frigga’s universal synergy works well with most decks, but this flexibility can be overwhelming, leaving some players unsure of the best lineup for her. This guide offers strategies to help you build the ideal deck for Frigga without getting too distracted by her distinct ability in Marvel Snap’s current metagame.

Frigga Deck Synergies

  • Frigga helps you copy a key card: Silver Surfer, Sebastian Shaw, or even Brood.
  • Silver Surfer is the primary buff provider. He adds +2 Power to all three-Cost cards on the board and can be re-triggered by Frigga.
  • Sebastian Shaw is a buff beneficiary. While you add Power to other cards on the board, Sebastian passively grows stronger.
  • Ironheart, Brood, Luke Cage, and Hope Summers are buff receivers. They are three-Cost drops that Silver Surfer can target.
  • Luke Cage is also a tech option. He protects your buffed cards against cards like Shadow King.
  • Absorbing Man yields an additional copy effect. You can use him to replicate key players like Frigga or Silver Surfer.
  • Hope Summer and Sera are discount cards. Hope gives you additional Energy, and Sera reduces the Cost.
  • Hazmat is there to exploit Luke Cage’s effect for disruption. The Hazmat-Luke duo punishes all enemy cards with -1 Power with no side effects for the friendly side.
  • Odin helps you trigger Silver Surfer’s buff for extra Power.

How to Play Frigga

Regarding strategy, Frigga’s effect makes her a Surtur-like card; she’s a plug-and-play character. What matters most in Frigga lineups is timing—so long as she’s drawn at the right time and played after “value cards,” Frigga will help the board.

For a maximized performance from Frigga, keep these notes in mind:

  • Consider hand size before dropping Frigga. Her effect triggers only if six or fewer cards are in your hand. If your hand is full, do not play Frigga.
  • Team her up with other copycats. Cards like Absorbing Mank or Taskmaster can maximize Frigga’s effect by copying her or doubling down on the Power of the cards she has replicated.
  • Don’t build around her. Unlike Surtur, which lets you make him the key player, Frigga offers a supporting role. She’s not naturally a win condition. If you want to make the most of her, let her be a part of the deck, not its core element.

How to Counter Frigga

Since the current META is under Surtur’s effect, most players are already running decks with Cosmo, which also naturally counters Frigga. However, a cheeky response to Frigga players could be Master Mold or any hand-disrupting cards like Black Widow and Rockslide. This way, you can keep the opponent’s hand full so their Frigga’s effect is nullified.

Frigga is also common in the Silver Surfer decks right now. So, having the Shadow King Shang-Chi tech duo would also be a wise choice.
