In order to be successful today in the New York Times Connections puzzle game, some players might need a few clues to the answers.

Connections is a daily word puzzle with an interesting premise: players are given sixteen words and charged with sorting them equally into four categories. But the big challenge is that the categories are a mystery, and some words can usually fit with several of the others in different ways. There is one word in today’s puzzle that might be new for some younger players or others: Clinch. There are two meanings to this word: it can mean both to secure or to hold onto passionately.
