Another Code: Recollection is a heartwarming remake of Another Code: Two Memories and Another Code: R – A Journey Into Lost Memories. While the stories remain, their puzzles have been changed to allow all players a fresh experience. Players will start their playthrough as 13-year-old Ashley in Two Memories as she searches for her father.
Puzzles are integral to moving through the story in Another Code: Recollection. After getting inside the Mansion gates, players will quickly be thwarted again by a locked door. The main entrance to the Mansion has a unique sound-based lock. This puzzle’s hint can be easily missed, but players can use this guide to unlock the Mansion door.

How to Solve the Door Knocker Puzzle
Without giving too much of the story away, Ashley encounters a friendly ghost named D inside the Graveyard after she unlocks the wooden door. The pair decide to team up, and their journey takes them to the front of the large historical Mansion. The Mansion’s front doors are locked tight and have gold and silver hummingbird knockers on them.
Ashley is searching for her father and her aunt Jessica, so she must figure out how to get inside the mansion. D suffers from memory loss, but has a vague flashback of how to get inside the door that hints about the lock being related to the two hummingbird-shaped door knockers.
Rather than using a key, players can pull the knockers back to trigger a sound-based lock mechanism. The only way to unlock the mansion door is to hit the knockers in the correct pattern. Luckily, there’s an audio and visual hint to this puzzle.
During D’s memory, players will hear the rhythm required to unlock the door. If memory fails you, there’s a clue hidden in the entrance area. The entrance is made of stones, and near the front gate, a set of stones is darker than the rest.
If players stand where the darker stones start, they will see what looks like a hopscotch pattern. The stones correlate with the silver (left) and gold (right) knockers; the pattern is the order in which you must hit them to unlock the mansion door.
To get inside the mansion, hit the door knockers using the left and right analog sticks in the following order:
- Gold
- Silver
- Gold
- Silver
- Gold
- Silver and Gold simultaneously
The door will swing open, and D and Ashley can continue their search.
