Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora‘s No Easy Prey achievement instructs players to defeat a non-feral Thanator. While this instruction is quite straightforward, completing the task is another matter entirely. Indeed, some fans may struggle to find and defeat a non-feral Thanator in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and this guide is written with that group of players in mind.
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: No Easy Prey Achievement Guide
Thanator (Non-Feral) Location
The first step toward earning the No Easy Prey trophy is locating a non-feral Thanator, and there is one that prowls near the border between the Kinglor Forest’s Gossamer Lakes and Shadow Wood domains. More specifically, this Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora creature can be found in the Big Leaf biome just south of the Soft Landing Ancestor Skill, which is approximately 3.5km northwest of the Hometree. For the sake of full clarity, this area has been marked on the maps that are below.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – How to Get Stairfoot Bark (Superior & Exquisite)
Players that are trying to obtain rare Stairfoot Bark in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora can find details on its precise location here.
Upon reaching this area, players must walk around within the Big Leaf biome until a white border appears around their screen. This visual effect, which is accompanied by an inability to use Na’vi Senses, indicates that a non-feral Thanator is nearby, and the volume of the protagonist’s heartbeat will increase as they get closer to the creature. Eventually, fans that work to continually increase that heartbeat’s volume will run directly into the Thanator that they are hunting, and the battle will commence as soon as that occurs.
Defeat a Thanator (Non-Feral)
Once the non-feral Thanator has been located, players can focus their efforts on defeating it, though that may be easier said than done. Indeed, this creature is quite powerful, having a Combat Strength of 20, and it will easily dispatch any Na’vi that attempts to engage it in combat before they are equipped with proper gear. As such, Avatar fans are advised to hold off on fighting the Thanator until they are at or near maximum Combat Strength, and they may even want to consider reducing difficulty through Gameplay Settings.
To note, the No Easy Prey achievement is not the only reason for players to defeat the non-feral Thanator, as the creature is also the source of some excellent materials. More specifically, fans that dispatch this creature will have the opportunity to harvest an exquisite Tooth, Heavy Hide, and Meat from it. While there may not be much need for those Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora materials after the Thantor has already been slain, players that simply want to maximize the efficacy of their gear may still be happy to have them.
