In line with many of Ubisoft’s open-world games, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora also features gathering and harvesting mechanics. However, this time, mindlessly pressing a button won’t fetch you the best resources. Instead, there is a mini-game to keep players engaged, where the quality of the gathered flora in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora depends on the location, time of day, and the player’s harvesting skills.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – All Windswept Doll Locations (The Dark Theater Quest)
Collect nine Windswept Dolls in the Clouded Forest to complete the Dark Theater Quest and earn an achievement.
Radar Mushrooms, a rare plant used for cooking, play a significant role. When used as the main ingredient, it grants the player a +45% Stealth Damage bonus. As a secondary ingredient, it provides a duration buff based on its quality. These mushrooms are essential to completing The Celebration Mural side quest.
Superior & Exquisite Radar Mushroom Location
To locate Radar Mushrooms, head to the northwest side of the Clouded Forest region, the third and final region that can be unlocked. The mushrooms are found in the Scarlet Thicket Biome, the northern area in the Crimson Great Wood district. The area will be covered with poisonous gas, meaning that your flying mount, Ikran, won’t be of much use here, so you’ll need to traverse the land on foot. Completing a few main quests is recommended to gain immunity to the poisonous gas.
Finding ‘Fine Quality’ Radar Mushrooms is relatively straightforward. However, if you seek ‘Superior’ or ‘Exquisite quality,’ head to the marked waterfall just above the Tangled Heart. Once in the right spot, search for the mushroom. Be sure to select the plant in your Hunter’s Guide, so it becomes gold when seen using the Na’vi senses.
The Radar Mushroom plant has a distinctive appearance, resembling a giant pillar-shaped mushroom surrounded by three smaller globe-shaped mushrooms. Hit the smaller mushrooms one by one, whether by shooting or meleeing them. Each hit on a smaller mushroom opens one petal on the larger mushroom.
After hitting all three mushrooms, all the petals on the pillar-shaped mushroom will open, and the Radar Mushroom will become available for harvesting. Interact with the mushroom and pull it downwards or down-left. For higher-quality mushrooms, perform these steps at night.
Wait for the petal opening animation to complete before hitting the next mushroom; shooting all three quickly may bug the plant, making it impossible to harvest.
