One of the biggest appeals of Baldur’s Gate 3 is the endless possibilities when it comes to character builds and loadouts within your party composition. These builds are further enhanced by various weapons that can be acquired along your journey, such as armors, trinkets, and weapons – many of which wield unique Spells or Buffs that can synergize with certain Classes.
The Charge-Bound Warhammer is one of the many weapons available in Baldur’s Gate 3, and one of the more niche, build-specific choices to implement with a character. However, when done right, this weapon can bring a lot of potential to the table, so knowing when and where to obtain it is key.

The Hellfire Hand Crossbow makes a fine addition to any ranged sniper build in Baldur’s Gate 3, so knowing how to secure this weapon is crucial.
How to Get the Charge-Bound Warhammer in Baldur’s Gate 3
To gain the Charge-Bound Warhammer in Baldur’s Gate 3, you will first need to complete Act 1, including the Mountain Pass, Rosymourn Monastery, and the Underdark, before finally progressing forward to Act 2. After reaching Act 2 and entering the Shadow-Cursed Lands, you will now need to locate a safehouse called Last Light Inn, where you will meet several potential new allies, and reunite with familiar faces, provided you saved the Tieflings through one of the possible methods during Act 1.
Note: To have access to the Charge-Bound Warhammer in Act 2, you must save the Tieflings through one method or another in Act 1. Failing to do so will restrict you from accessing the weapon, as well as many others, for the remainder of your playthrough.
If you need assistance reaching Last Light Inn, then feel free to refer to the map screenshot below, where this location has been marked to help you find your way.
After arriving at Last Light Inn and successfully being welcomed` inside by Jaheira and the Harpers, you will need to locate Dammon. As long as you made sure to save the Tieflings in Act 1, he will be found outside next to the Strange Ox, where he will have set up his blacksmith station.
While speaking to Dammon, ask to see his wares, and you will be able to purchase the Charge-Bound Warhammer. Or, if you’re feeling a little sneaky, you can attempt to have a stealthy character such as your Rogue or Ranger use the Hide Action and try to pickpocket the item – though remember to save before attempting this, as being caught may eventually lead to combat with Dammon and the other Last Light Inn residents.

Charge-Bound Warhammer Skills & How to Get the Most Value, Explained
Charge-Bound Warhammer Skills + Buffs
- Favored Weapon: This weapon has a +1 bonus to damage and attack rolls.
- Shocking Bound: This weapon deals an additional 1d6 Lightning damage.
- This hammer’s magical powers only function if it’s bound to an Eldritch Knight or is a Warlock’s Pact Weapon.
- Both the +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls and an additional +1d6 Lightning Damage on a hit with this weapon are huge buffs to bring into combat, as the more you progress through the story, every little bit of damage will count.
For this reason, you should only look to equip this weapon to an Eldritch Knight Fighter, or Pact of the Blade Warlock, as these are the only two Subclasses that will activate from these bonus effects. Without the involvement of either of these Classes, the Warhammer will essentially just be an average weapon, meaning you lose utility. This will work in Multiclass builds too, as long as you have enough levels in either class to pick the required Subclass or Pact.
