The gigantic Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3 is out now on PC, and it includes improvements for split-screen and fixes for Act 3 bugs. Baldur’s Gate 3 was first released over a year ago, but developer Larian Studios has remained committed to the game. It hasn’t released any paid DLC, but it has supported the award-winning RPG with free updates that have addressed problems, made adjustments, and in some cases, has even added new content.

Some of the more substantial Baldur’s Gate 3 updates have added things like the Magic Mirror, the brutally difficult Honour Mode, and an epilogue. The latest Baldur’s Gate 3 update adds fresh content for fans to check out as well, plus it fixes a dizzying number of bugs that the community has found.

Larian has now deployed Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 on PC. It adds Evil Ending cinematics, giving players yet another reason to replay the game, a helpful Mod Manager, and revamped split-screen. After downloading the update, split-screen will merge together when players are in the same area, and split when they separate. Various bugs that have been plaguing Baldur’s Gate 3 split-screen have also been addressed in Patch 7. The full Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 patch notes are over 17,000 words long, but fans are encouraged to check them out if they want to know every single thing that’s been changed.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Highlights

  • Introducing ‘Evil Endings’: Brand new cinematic endings for the truly villainous playthroughs.
  • Added our very own Mod Manager, which lets you browse, install, and use mods created by the community.
  • Revamped split screen gameplay: When playing on split screen, the two halves of the screen will now dynamically merge together when player characters come close to each other in-game, and dynamically split back up when the characters move apart. This revamp comes alongside many other improvements and polishes to improve the overall split screen experience.

The notoriously buggy Baldur’s Gate 3 Act 3 areas have also been addressed in the latest update. Larian has fixed multiple Act 3 bugs, and so, hopefully, the latest update will mean that section of the game runs a lot smoother than it did before. Act 3 has never played nice in split-screen either, but maybe the split-screen revamp means that it’s better now as well. I will need to test it out for myself, but will have to wait for the console version of the update to drop in October.

Regardless, it’s great to see Larian continue to improve Baldur’s Gate 3. Fans can likely expect more Baldur’s Gate 3 updates in the future, even though Larian has started work on its next project. It’s anyone’s guess as to what Larian’s next game is, though we do know that it’s not Baldur’s Gate 4.
