Mystic Carrion’s lair holds the secrets of his immortality. You must find it to defeat him in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive RPG with all kinds of quests and characters. Mystic Carrion is a mysterious Mummy Lord who has taken up residence in the Lower City section of Baldur’s Gate. You can find him at Philgrave’s Mansion right below the Heapside Strand fast travel point. Speak to him to receive the quest to help find his servant Thrumbo. Doing the “Free the Artist” quest will also point you to Mystic Carrion. Siding against him will lead to a fight in the mansion. Unfortunately, the Mystic Carrion will keep reviving unless you discover the secret to ending his immortality. You’ll have to find his Ancient Lair deep underneath the city to defeat him for good.

Enter the Sewers
You will have to enter the dank sewers underneath the Lower City to find the lair. There are many entrances to the sewer, but the most convenient is the manhole behind the Gitter Gala building near Bloomridge Park. Simply interact with the manhole in the alley to descend into the sewers.
Deal With Aelis
In the sewers, go to the left, then right across the bridge with all the talking Mephits. This area is covered in grease so watch out for slipping and going prone. Use the spell or a potion of Grant Flight to traverse this area.
Aelis is a sorcerer across the bridge. He is holding a vigil for his dead friend Sarin. You can convince him to let you walk through, but if you come back this way, he and his allies will attack. He will use fire on the grease and light up all the grease on the ground if he does.
Ancient Lair Location
Continue to the right down the stairs and more Mephits. Open the large wooden door and head north.
Eventually, you will reach the fast travel point for the Undercity Ruins at coordinates (X:-141, Y:941.) Head west past the mute trader to find a passageway leading further down into the underground.
Mystic Carrion’s Organs
This is Mystic Carrion’s Ancient Lair. Enter to find many chests strewn about the area. Opening one will awaken mummy enemies and inflict Spell Rot on your entire party.Spell Rot will inflict damage on any creature that casts a spell.
Defeat all the mummies and inspect the wall on the right side of the room. Your party will discover a hidden door that can be lock picked. Look through Mystic Carrion’s lab to find his brain on the table with the mutilated body. His liver can be found in the locked gilded chest to the left of the body. A note titled “Funerary Jar and Function” can be found to the right of the body on the desk. This note will reveal the location of Mystic Carrion’s heart. Exit using the ladder and then pulling a lever to end up back at the mute trader by the Undercity Ruins fast travel.
