Dungeonborne is a thrilling first-person action game that pits players against the environment and other players around the world, testing their skills as they extract items and rewards while defeating monsters. With the ability to run through dungeons alone or in a group, monsters won’t be the only threat in the way of some bounty. Other players joining the same dungeon will attempt to stop their real-life counterparts in hopes of keeping the treasure to themselves.

Players can choose from a small pool of different classes of fighters, all packed with different pros and cons. Dungeonborne keeps things interesting by carefully weighing the strengths and weaknesses of each character class, balancing everything out evenly so that no type has a clear-cut advantage. Some of it will come down to skill and building experience, while others are more tailored to being beginner-friendly.

The Different Classes In Dungeonborne

In total, there are eight classes to choose from, and offer players a variety of different playing styles. Whether it’s attacking at the front of the line or spell-casting from the rear, or even supporting a group of friends with healing and buffs, Dungeonborne has all areas covered. Before suggesting the best class for beginners looking to avoid the learning curve and jumping into the action with little difficulty, let’s take a look at the different types of characters available.

  • Fighter — Good attack and stamina, but struggles against long-ranged enemies
  • Priest — Can debuff enemies and heal party, but lacks offensive abilities
  • Rogue — Very good stealth attacker with quick strikes, but has low defense and HP
  • Pyromancer — Powerful long-range attacks, but takes time to build and moves slowly
  • Death Knight — Solid melee fighter that can defeat mobs, but not as mobile as other classes
  • Cryomancer — Good at attacking all and high HP, but requires an uninterrupted attack phase
  • Swordsmaster — Great for attacking at the front of the line, but not a team player
  • Druid — Can deal short-range and long-range attacks, but takes time to master style

Since Dungeonborne offers two different types of experience — solo and group play — the results may vary depending on the type of class chosen. For example, a team of four players may benefit from having one Priest on their team to heal the group and continuously roll out buffs and debuffs, while a solo player would be wise to choose a class that can deal plenty of damage. It will depend on the playing mode and how comfortable the classes feel after some experience.

The Best Class For Dungeonborne Beginners

Dungeonborne Best Class Fighter

For beginners looking to dive right in and start experiencing Dungeonborne, whether it’s alone or in a team, the Fighter class is the best one for beginners. While it may feel like the boring option at first glance, there is nothing more reliable than the old, trusted sword and shield style. Fighters are capable of attacking and defending, while using their shield in a parry to inflict more damage, and they can also wield two-handed swords. This class also gains access to Whirlwind, which is a beginner-friendly skill that deals massive damage to multiple enemies.

With one of the higher Strength and Stamina ratings of any class, the Fighter class is a good example of the type of player that can inflict good damage and stay in a battle for an extended period of time. With some experience under the belt, players can learn the ropes of the combat system and begin to master the character’s style in no time. Additionally, this Dungeonborne class gains the ability of Battle Cry, which increases physical resistance and attack damage, while inflicting Life Steal for some HP replenishing.

Should the Fighter class be too basic after some usage, Swordmaster is the next step-up and utilizes the strengths of the Fighter class while extending the ability for more power. It’s recommended that players get accommodated with the former before moving on, as Swordmaster may feel too difficult during the first playthrough. Additionally, Swordmaster is an exceptional class for players without a team, as it excels in solo combat.
