In WoW SoD Phase 4, DPS classes have everything they need to be powerful at endgame, and for the most part there are few classes falling behind in a major way. Thanks to new Phase 4 Runes for each class, and max-level Talents and new Armor Set bonuses, there are far fewer WoW SoD P4 classes that won’t be able to find a group willing to take them.

World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery – Best Max Level Dungeons in Phase 4, Ranked

These are the dungeons you should explore in Phase 4 of Wow Season of Discovery.

That’s not to say every WoW SoD DPS spec is made equally, though, as some still stand out. There are some surprises at the top of the WoW SoD P4 DPS rankings, but for the most part, the classes that have been overperforming so far in Season of Discovery have continued to shine in Phase 4.

This guide will be updated as new class rankings emerge after the first week or so of Molten Core’s release, as this will be the ultimate test of how every class is doing in WoW SoD P4.

Weave Hunter

Lots of Tools & Traps For Versatile DamageWoW SoD Phase 4 All New Hunter Runes Season of Discovery P4

In Phase 4 Hunters generally place around middle of the pack in terms of DPS, but this changes in the hands of an experienced player who can min-max this class for all its worth. In Phase 4, Hunters get the Resourcefulness Rune and the Improved Volley Rune to complement their already-above-par damage.

But because of all the new tools, Talents, and ways to engage in combat as a Hunter at both Ranged and Melee distance, you can effectively slip in and out of close combat to use as many abilities as possible.

If you can master this deceptively complex class rotation, which weaves together the Melee and Ranged Hunter kit, you’ll consistently place top of the charts as one of the best Phase 4 DPS class.

Feral Druid

Class Versatility & Feral’s Wild Strikes

Feral Druids and Rogues have an important distinction from most DPS classes in WoW SoD: they don’t have to rely on Mana. Because of this, Feral Druids and Rogues are able to stay engaged in combat over a long period of time, and lots of bosses in Molten Core will take your team a few minutes to beat.

WoW SoD: Best Phase 4 Runes, Ranked

Though there aren’t many overwhelmingly powerful new Runes in Phase 4, WoW SoD players still have some great new Runes to try out.

But what makes Feral Druids really strong in a Raid group is the Wild Strikes Rune. Introduced all the way back at the start of Season of Discovery, Druids are one of the best DPS classes throughout the game mode’s lifespan because of this Rune.

On their own, Feral Druids are already be powerful enough in Phase 4 to consistently place high on DPS charts. But because they bring useful utility spells like Wild Strikes to the Raid as well, they are almost required for taking on endgame content (if you don’t have a source for Windfury as a Horde).

Fire Mage

AoE DPS Gods, With Decent Single Target

The Destruction Warlock and Fire Mage might not seem like optimal choices for taking on Molten Core, but because Warlocks use a variety of Shadow abilities and Fire Mages actually rely on Balefire Bolt in WoW SoD, Fire Mages tend to do well in the Raid.

Mages are already unbeatable when it comes to AoE damage, which can make big pulls significantly easier if one is in the group. And in WoW SoD, with how many methods there are to get Mana regeneration, the Mage’s classic problem of running out of Mana to cast spells is hardly a factor.

You will still have to wait for Mages to drink after especially large pulls, but you’ll be glad to bring one along for clearing trash, their surprisingly decent Single-Target DPS, and the utility they bring in the form of consumables and post-Raid portals.

Destruction Warlock

Destruction Is A Spellcasting DPS Powerhouse

The Destruction Warlock is one of the best WoW SoD P4 DPS classes because it’s able to keep up in combat without having to worry too much about Mana consumption. Life Tap gives you Mana in exchange for HP, and this helps keep you topped up when the plethora of Mana Regeneration WoW SoD effects aren’t quite enough.

The newest upgrade currency in WoW SoD is Tarnished Undermine Reals, which can be earned easily from a variety of sources under certain restrictions.

But the Destruction Warlock’s sheer damage output beats out just about every other caster. With an empowered Imp at your side, new WoW SoD Runes from previous Phases, and the Decimation Rune (which greatly increases your capabilities for certain Destruction spells), there’s really only one class that can compete DPS-wise with a well-played Warlock in SoD Phase 4.

Mutilate Rogue

The Masters Of Single-Target DPS

WoW SoD Phase 4 All New Rogue Runes Season of Discovery P4

Despite a big nerf to the Mutilate ability itself, Rogues remain on top of the damage charts in Phase 4 with this incredibly powerful single-target build. Though Rogues also have a very viable Swords build available thanks to other Rune changes, and Bleed being easier to proc with Crimson Tempest, you can take advantage of the Carnage Rune very effectively.

But Daggers/Mutilate Rogues have an important advantage: they don’t rely on Bleed for damage output, and are great at endgame because of alterations to Boss resistances, specifically to Poison. If you master the relatively simple Rotation of a Mutilate Rogue (and keep an eye out to interrupt enemy abilities), you will be an asset to your Raid team on boss fights.

Just don’t expect too much from a Rogue in between big single-target fights – they are one of the worst classes in WoW SoD for AoE damage.
