Fans of Black Clover will be pleased to learn that the series includes multiple arcs. The story this series covers is that of two boys, Asta and Yuno, who aim to become the Wizard King. However, as they know, this is no easy task; the Wizard King is known to be the strongest mage in the Clover Kingdom. With this in mind, both of them strive to make their dreams a reality.

Written by Yuki Tabata, the Black Clover manga is still ongoing; however, currently, the animation has been halted at the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc. Among its somewhat vast arcs, there are some noteworthy ones to look out for.

With epic fight scenes, new additions to the lore, and Asta and Yuno’s ongoing rivalry to become the Wizard King, the Black Clover arc has proven itself as one of the best new-gen anime. Ranking the arcs from worst to best might be highly subjective, but even in subjectivity, some arcs have proven themselves as objectively better than others. Whether it be for their lore, their fight scenes, or even how the characters are portrayed, some arcs remain forever great.

11 Dungeon Exploration Arc

Clover And Diamond Kingdoms Clash

• Manga Chapters: 11-21.
• Anime Episodes: 14-19.

A dungeon is found on the border between the Diamond and Clover Kingdoms. Dungeons usually contain loads of treasure; however, they are generally well-guarded by powerful traps. To obtain the treasure while bypassing the traps, Magic Knights are sent to explore the ruins. For this dungeon exploration, the junior members of the Black Bulls and the Golden Dawn are sent to investigate.

On getting there, they come across mages from the Diamond Kingdom. Mars, one of the Diamond Kingdom’s Eight Shining Generals, is present. And with his enhanced magic power due to human experimentation, he serves as a challenging opponent for the Clover Kingdom’s Magic Knights. After a heated battle between both sides, The Clover Kingdom’s Magic Knights come out on top. Yuno obtains the wind spirit Sylph, and Asta obtains the Demon Dweller sword.

10 Heart Kingdom Joint Struggle Arc

The Introduction Of The Dark Triad Leaves A Gruesome Aftermath

This arc revolves around intense battles that have significant implications for the series. After six months of training for the Clover Kingdom’s Magic Knights in the Heart Kingdom, the Dark Triad—Zenon Zogratis, Dante Zogratis, and Vanica Zogratis—launch a major attack on the Clover and Heart Kingdoms. Zenon and Dante head to the Clover Kingdom to capture the captains of the Black Bulls and the Golden Dawn, Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance, respectively.

Meanwhile, Lolopechka, Queen of the Heart Kingdom, notices that Vanica and her dark disciples have invaded the Heart Kingdom. With Vanica possessing the power of the devil Megicula, Lolopechka realizes how powerful her enemies are. At the end of the devastating battle, Vanica leaves, taking Lolopechka hostage, and leaves the Heart Kingdom covered in explosions. Meanwhile, Yami and William have both been captured by Zenon Zogratis.

9 Royal Capital Assault Arc

A Captain’s Fall Raises The Stakes

The Royal Capital Assault Arc unfolds after the Dungeon Exploration Arc, during which the Black Bulls and select members of the Golden Dawn confront the mages from the Diamond Kingdom. Meanwhile, Yuno and Asta find themselves attending a grand banquet hosted by Julius Novachrono, only to receive shocking news of an ongoing assault on the royal capital. On confirmation, the assailants were none other than the Eye of the Midnight Sun terrorists.

This arc introduces Rades Spirito, a master of corpse magic who unleashes hordes of undead upon the capital. While the Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom engage in a fierce battle against the terrorists from the Eye of the Midnight Sun, tragedy strikes as Fuegoleon becomes the target of a ruthless assassination attempt. Mysteriously vanishing and re-emerging in an unconscious state, Fuegoleon’s absence and the loss of his arm leave the Magic Knights worried, as they wonder who could so easily overpower a Magic Knight squad captain.

Why This Arc?

Of the various arcs in the series, this arc is dearly beloved for its portrayal of tournament-style battles among the captains themselves. The Magic Knight captains are powerful, no doubt, but very few of their abilities had been revealed prior to this arc. Seeing Dorothy Unsworth awake and battling showed that despite her laid-back and under-portrayed character, she ranks among the top captains.

Other captains like Bill, who many fans haven’t paid attention to, also showed their true abilities, and it shocked many. Additionally, Asta and Yuno’s performance alongside high-level opponents were standout moments that allowed the arc to reinforce the importance of strength and rivalry, making it one of the finest arcs.

8 Spade Kingdom Raid Arc

Stopping The Tree Of Qliphoth Introduces New Threats

• Manga Chapters: 261-331.
• Anime Episodes: 168-170.

Asta and Yuno’s world is in danger from the Tree of Qliphoth, which the Dark Triad of the Spade Kingdom plans to create. The magic knights of Clover Kingdom have been training with the mages of the Heart Kingdom for some time prior to the beginning of this arc in order to prepare for battle against the Dark Triad.

The Triad has captured Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance in hopes of using them to get access to the Tree and therefore unleash devils onto the world. The Clover Kingdom’s attack force and their allies want to avoid this; they plan to raid the Spade Kingdom. As the anime is currently on hold, the Black Clover Manga arc in this regard has concluded for manga readers.

Why This Arc?

While fans of the Black Clover manga have gone ahead, only anime watchers highly anticipate the Spade Kingdom Raid arc. With the previous arc introducing the devils and their all-powerful nature, the Spade Kingdom arc is the protagonist’s chance to fight back. Dante and the other members of the Dark Triad haven’t gotten weaker, and so the protagonists must indeed and in truth go “past their limits.”

The battles aren’t expected to be easy, but they are expected to have a lot of plot twists with amazing scenes as seen in the manga. Moreover, the Spade Kingdom arc sets the stage for Arc 11, an arc with major lore progressing events.

7 Magic Knights Entrance Arc

Introducing The Series’ Protagonists

Fans are introduced to Asta and Yuno, two young kids with big dreams of becoming the Wizard King, in the first arc of the Black Clover series. This arc does double duty as an effective show opener while also making an effort to spotlight the show’s central premise. Clover Kingdom’s Hage Village is where both Asta and Yuno live. Both of them received their grimoires and reported to the Royal Capital to take the Magic Knights Entrance Exam.

Participants in the exam must demonstrate their magical abilities to the satisfaction of the Magic Knight captains, who will watch and show interest in those they find most promising. Yuno, given a unique four-leaf grimoire, passes all of the tests and joins the Golden Dawn, while Asta, who was given a grimoire in the form of a five-leafed clover, fails most of them but is nevertheless recruited by Yami, captain of the Black Bulls. Both characters have been assigned to the Magic Knights guilds and will no doubt keep working toward the ultimate aim of becoming Wizard King.

6 Seabed Temple Arc

The Black Bulls’ Quest For The Magic Stone Is Packed With Action

This arc features what most viewers would describe as “0-100” occurrences. Julius Novachrono, the Wizard King, calls for the Black Bulls and tasks them with locating a magic stone in the Seabed Temple. They had yet to learn that the Eye of the Midnight Sun has its sights set on the stone.

Vetto of the Eye of the Midnight Sun is featured prominently throughout this epic arc. The Black Bulls strive to thwart him on his quest to reclaim the magical stone. Yami Sukehiro, captain of the Black Bulls, also lends a hand in the fight against Vetto, and he uses his catchphrase, “surpass your limit,” to do just that. Among fans, this arc stands as arguably one of the best Black Clover arcs.

5 Eye of the Midnight Sun Encounter Arc

The Rise Of A Formidable Antagonist

• Manga Chapters: 36-56.
• Anime Episodes: 28-39.

Black Clover fans highly regard the Eye of the Midnight Sun Encounter Arc since it introduced the series’ first truly formidable antagonists. Asta, tired from his duties as a Magic Knight, heads back to Nean for a vacation, where he plans to spend time with his friend Rebecca. Later, he and his Black Bulls teammate Gauche learn that evil mages have abducted some children from the village and confront Baro and Sally, the kidnappers.

After they are defeated, Licht, leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun, shows up and finishes off the remaining two Black Bulls. Luckily, they are saved when Yami comes in to save them alongside Finral; an intense battle between Licht and Yami follows.

4 Witches’ Forest Arc

Vanessa’s Magic To Manipulate ‘Fate’ Takes Center Stage

At the end of the battle with Vetto in the Seabed Temple Arc, Asta’s arms, which he is famous for using to swing his massive sword, become cursed. As a result of Vetto’s Ancient Curse Magic, Asta’s arms have been crushed to the point where he can no longer use them; not even Owen, the best healer in the Clover Kingdom, can restore their functionality.

The Black Bulls look for ways to aid their teammate, Vanessa is reminded of her mother, the Queen of Witches. She believes Asta’s arms can be healed with her help; therefore, the Black Bulls head to the Witches’ Forest. The Queen of Witches, the Eye of the Midnight Sun, and the Diamond Kingdom are just some of the adversaries they will have to fight and overcome on this journey in one of the best arcs in Black Clover.

3 Royal Knights Arc

Epic Battles Between The Powerful Captains Are Portrayed

The Royal Knights Arc introduces itself to viewers after the events of the Witches’ Forest Arc have concluded, and it focuses on the selection of the magical knights who will comprise the Royal Knights. A festival honoring Yuno and Asta for their bravery in the face of numerous attacks had just concluded before this. Fans were thrilled by this Black Clover tournament arc featuring the Royal Knights since it provided a chance to see multiple guilds go head-to-head and settle any strength debates that may have existed between them.

In this Black Clover arc, viewers meet Zora Ideale, a new Black Bulls member who specializes in Trap Magic. Additionally, this arc also features an encounter between Finral and his younger brother Langris. An unforgettable moment from this arc involves Asta, Magna, and Luck preparing to attack Langris, who is going to go too far in his fight with Finral.

2 Elf Reincarnation Arc

The Rebirth Of The Elf Tribe Causes A Twist In The Battle

As the Royal Knights Arc comes to a close, the newly formed Royal Knights launch an assault against the Eye of the Midnight Sun. Unfortunately, the Black Bulls’ base is attacked in order to steal the magic stones they possess, and Licht, captain of the Eye of the Midnight Sun, fights Julius, the Magic King, in order to reclaim the stones he has in his possession.

As one of the best Black Clover arcs, souls of the elf tribe are reborn into the bodies of several magic knights during the raid by the Magic Knights. Allies fight each other in a thrilling arc that ultimately decides the fate of the Clover Kingdom.

The last announced arc of the Black Clover series is intense and uncovers a lot of truths and mysteries about the series. One major secret is the revelation of the Time Devil, who is housed in the most revered mage and user of time magic in the series—the Wizard King himself.

However, the Time Devil is no peace-loving devil but someone who seeks to conquer the world and uses the Dark Triad as his underlings. The revelation of this has a great impact on the very core of the Black Clover series. With Lucius Zogratis now in the picture, the scales are unbalanced, but Asta remains ever-ready to challenge the impossible.
