What is Omnimovement in CoD: Black Ops 6?
Black Ops 6 steps up its movement game with the introduction of Omnimovement. With this feature, players can now slide, dive, and move freely in any direction. Previous Call of Duty games had a bi-directional movement system.
No doubt, Omnimovement is great news for those who love quick maneuvers, but it can be tricky for gamers who prefer a laid-back approach. Here’s a rundown on what you need to know about Omnimovement, along with some handy Black Ops 6 tips to help you make the most of it.

What is Omnimovement in CoD: Black Ops 6?
Omnimovement is a whole new way to move around in Black Ops 6 that allows you to move in any direction you want. The game brings back familiar moves from MW2019, like Dolphin Dives, Tactical Sprints, and Slides, but with an Omnimovement twist. Now, each one has been slightly reworked to fit into the new feature.
Below is how each of them works with Omnimovement and how you can perform them:
Tactical Sprint
Tactical Sprint essentially increases your sprinting for a short time. BO6 players will have to press the Sprint input again to kick it in. However, it should be noted that, in Black Ops 6, it doesn’t last as long as before, so you’ll want to save it for moments when you really need that extra burst of speed, like when you want to get out of a tough spot instead of just running around.
Here are some settings we recommend tweaking for the Slide mechanic:
- Turn Toggle Sprint Assist off. But if you prefer to keep it on, set Sprint Assist Delay to 2 and make sure that the other advanced options for this tab are on.
- Set Tactical Sprint Activation to Single Tap Run if you’re not using Toggle Sprint Assist.
Slide
With Omnimovement, you can essentially ‘slide’ in all directions. To slide, players will have to hit the crouch button while they are sprinting. Here are some settings we recommend tweaking for the Slide mechanic:
- Set Slide/Dive Behavior to Hybrid. This way, you can slide by just tapping the button and dive by tapping while sprinting.
- Turn on Slide Maintains Sprint.
Dolphin Dive
In Black Ops 6, the Dolphin Dive is a bit different from what fans have seen in earlier CoD games. Now, you can shoot at enemies while diving.

Mantle
This isn’t an Omnimovement mechanic per se, but it’s still an important movement technique in BO6. With this mechanic, players can climb over walls or objects that are about chest height. For that, you will need to hit the jump button to perform this movement.
