Destiny 2 offers a wide range of PvP and PvE activities. However, many in the community have complained about the former on multiple occasions and have requested changes to improve the PvP experience. In response, Bungie revealed that Destiny 2 was getting a dedicated PvP Strike Team to actively make changes to Crucible and monitor player feedback. Following this, Bungie has experimented with several game modes, like adding Checkmate in Trials of Osiris and along with a new Sparrow Control mode with the recent update. Now, it has revealed another set of changes coming to Crucible, some of which are already live.
Destiny 2 Announces New Update With Ability Changes
Bungie reveals new details about ability changes coming in a new Destiny 2 update, including buffs that were originally planned for The Final Shape.
Destiny 2’s PvP is getting an extreme makeover
In a recent blog post, the PvP Strike Team detailed some quality-of-life changes being made to different maps and game modes in Crucible. Additionally, the team also provided an update on the Destiny 2 PvP Map Pack mentioned earlier by Joe Blackburn, which will be dropped along with the May update and will introduce three new maps. Furthermore, these maps will also enable 3v3 game modes like Dominion, Clash, and Survival, along with a new mode called Collision.
In a bid to make Crucible more rewarding, Bungie is making it possible for players to obtain Artifice Armor from the Competitive mode. Currently, the only way to obtain Artifice Armor in Destiny 2 is by playing Master-difficulty Dungeons. Besides getting another way to obtain it, players will also be able to farm Artifice Armor as it will have a chance to drop after completing the weekly challenge as well. Aside from this, the end-of-match rewards have also been increased to give players an added incentive.
In the upcoming 7.3.5 update, Trials of Osiris will receive a new passage called the Passage of Persistence, where losses after a win will only remove the win from the card and not flaw the entire passage. This will allow players to get a weekly adept weapon regardless of their losses, but that will not count as a Flawless win and will prevent them from farming the card for more Adept drops.
In addition to this, changes are being made to other game modes, such as Clash and Iron Banner Tribute, which will take effect in the next update. Furthermore, the team also detailed some additional Destiny 2 PvP sandbox changes building on last week’s announcement, which will also arrive with a future update. Matchmaking in Crucible is also getting an extreme makeover, as Bungie will look to prioritize lobby balancing to improve the Crucible experience across different game modes.
