With Season 5 Reloaded set to kick off on August 21, Activision has confirmed that the popular multiplayer mode Cyber Attack, last seen in 2019’s Modern Warfare, will make its return in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The much-loved game mode features no respawns, and is just one of many reasons to check out the mid-season update in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
The upcoming Call of Duty content update is already proving to be controversial, thanks to some new operator bundles for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of great content coming with Season 5 Reloaded. As Season 5 is expected to be the penultimate season for Modern Warfare 3, Activision is giving players a free community pack featuring 10 tier skips, 10 one-hour double-player XP tokens, and 10 one-hour double weapon XP tokens. If that wasn’t enough reason to make fans jump into the new update, there are also new multiplayer maps, Warzone modes, and a returning fan-favorite mode for Modern Warfare 3.

The Pros and Cons of Call of Duty’s Big Scorestreak Change
In the past, scorestreaks in Call of Duty were a wild way to dominate a multiplayer match, but Black Ops 6’s update helps bring balance.
In a recent blog post on the Call of Duty website, Activision confirmed that the upcoming release of Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 Reloaded will see the return of Cyber Attack, a popular multiplayer mode that hasn’t been available since the release of Modern Warfare. In this no-respawn game mode, two teams will battle to control an EMP device that spawns in the center of the map. Players must retrieve the EMP device and plant it in the enemy’s data center, with the first team to win five rounds declared as the winners.
Call Of Duty Fans React To Cyber Attack’s Return
As expected, the Call of Duty community is thrilled with the return of the mode. After Sledgehammer Games acknowledged requests for Cyber Attack to return in Modern Warfare 3, fans remained somewhat skeptical after the studio said that adding the mode was not part of its plans. However, due to the massive amount of requests and comments from players, the studio has managed to squeeze the development of the mode into its schedule. Over on Twitter, Call of Duty players expressed their excitement for the mode’s return. Others were quick to request a hardcore version of Cyber Attack, which Sledgehammer promptly confirmed would also be available with the mid-season update.
Despite the fact that players have continued to request classic maps be put back in rotation in Modern Warfare 3, Activision will continue to release new cel-shaded variants with Season 5 Reloaded. Similar to Rust and Shipment, Stash House is next in line to receive a Borderlands-style makeover as a new cel-shaded variant known as Ink House. For those who aren’t a fan of this new style of map, there’s still plenty of other content to check out when Call of Duty‘s mid-season update launches on August 21.
