As players work through Tier 3 content and the even more challenging Dark Aether zones in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, overpowered weapons are regularly sought out, and the latest has seemingly been discovered. The weapon in question is the XRK Stalker Sniper, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies players should use it while they can.

Treyarch has wasted no time nerfing everything from fan favorite MWZ Contract farming strategies to useful equipment like decoys, and guns are no exception. As soon as Modern Warfare 3 Zombies made its debut, players discovered the best weapons to use within the mode, sharing videos of how overpowered the Akimbo Tyr revolvers and Crossbow were in the open-world mode. With these weapons trivializing the game, they were quickly nerfed, and though they are still very strong they are not nearly as broken – though it seems they now have a successor in that regard.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Player Accidentally Pilots Exfil Helicopter

A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies fan is stunned when their attempt to exfil results in them piloting their escape vehicle.

The overpowered weapon in question, the XRK Stalker Sniper Rifle, was highlighted by Reddit user AhmedMoeTV in two separate videos. In both clips of footage, the gun decimates the undead, one-shotting regular zombies and turning them into red clouds of mist. More impressively, players can see chunks of the Mega Abomination’s health bar being depleted with each XRK round fired into the beast, especially when AhmedMoeTV lands a shot on one of the creature’s open mouths. However, the weapon is not just great for killing Abominations.

In the other video from the Redditor, the weapon is used to shoot down the Urzikstan Stronghold’s helicopter and all the armored mercenaries within this location. It also takes down Stormcaller, a durable Disciple mini-boss found within the Aether Storm before it expands. With the only downside of the weapon being that it has to be cocked back after every shot, ensuring that it will not protect players if they are trapped in a corner and surrounded by a big horde, it is always worth carrying in the second weapon slot for stronger foes.

While there are other meta weapons to use like the Tonfa and Longbow, the XRK seems worth the grind required to unlock it. To get the weapon, players need to complete sector A4 in the Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 Battle Pass. Since seasonal weapons are free for all players, there is no need to purchase the premium battle pass in order to unlock the XRK Sniper Rifle for use in Zombies, Warzone, and multiplayer. For attachments, the Handler LPK Short Barrel, FSS DLE-V Laser, DF105 Reflex Sight, XRK Stalker Bolt, and 10 Round Mag can provide a noticeable boost in quality.

Considering how quick Treyarch has been to nerf other weapons in MWZ, players should make use of this powerful gun while they can. Whenever the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies update arrives, there is a chance that the XRK becomes a shell of its former self.
