Hit indie title Vampire Survivors reveals a new collaboration with Konami’s Castlevania series, promising the biggest DLC release to date. Since it’s release two years ago, Vampire Survivors quickly went on to become a massive success for Luca Galante and the team at Poncle. In fact, the team has continued that momentum by releasing new updates for the game, through both free and paid DLC, and by collaborating with other big franchises to add unique elements to the indie title.

While giving fans original content early on through Legacy of the Moonspell and Tides of Foscari, Poncle has turned the tables on players a bit with the more recent DLC packs. For example, Emergency Meeting brought Innnersloth’s iconic Among Us characters into Vampire Survivors with playable Crewmate characters, weapons, and adventure mode. Following that was the announcement of Operation Guns for Vampire Survivors, bringing the Contra series to the game with its rapid-firing guns, grenades, and everything else one would expect to see. Now, Poncle and Konami are collaborating again to bring another iconic series to the hit indie title.

Vampire Survivors Ode to Castlevania DLC Launch Date

Poncle is planning this DLC pack to be a big experience for players, admitting that Ode to Castlevania is around 70-80% as big as the base Vampire Survivors game. As such, Poncle has set the price point to be slightly bigger than previous Vampire Survivor DLC packs, though with this one, players will have 40 new weapons, 30 new music tracks with some classic Castlevania tunes also available within the music selector. The DLC also includes over 20 playable characters from iconic series mainstays like Trevor and Simon Belmont, Alucard, and many more from the franchise’s long history.

As for Castlevania, it’s been a rollercoaster of sorts for fans based on recent announcements this year. Konami launched the Castlevania Dominus Collection in August, giving fans a way to replay the highly rated Nintendo DS titles on modern platforms. However, Castlevania fans still waiting for a new game were met with a slew of crossover announcements instead, as the franchise has recently collaborated with games like Dead by Daylight, V Rising, and Dead Cells, and even showed up in Team Asobi’s popular Astro Bot. While Castlevania remains in the forefront of the gaming industry, it seems fans will be waiting even longer until a proper mainline game is announced.
