Key Takeaways

  • Xbox Game Studios is holding a Forza franchise sale on Steam until September 19.
  • Forza Horizon 4 is available at a historically low price of $11.99 as part of the promotion.
  • This 80% discount is one of the final opportunities to grab FH4 without breaking the bank because the game is scheduled to be delisted on December 15 due to expiring licensing agreements. Its multiplayer features will be unaffected by the delisting.

Forza Horizon 4 has been discounted by 80% on Steam. This is one of the final opportunities for Steam users to grab the critically acclaimed 2018 game without breaking the bank.

Developer Playground Games announced its plans to delist Forza Horizon 4 back in late June 2024. The arcade racer will be pulled from all digital storefronts on December 15, the company said. Immediately following that announcement, Forza Horizon 4 dropped to an all-time low price of $11.99 on Steam. That particular offer ended after two weeks in mid-July.

Xbox Game Studios Launches Forza Franchise Steam Sale

Anyone who missed out on it now has another chance to grab Forza Horizon 4 at an 80% discount, courtesy of the ongoing Forza franchise sale that Xbox Game Studios launched in mid-September. This would be an attractive offer even if the game wasn’t set to be delisted in two months’ time, as Forza Horizon 4 is still widely touted as one of the best open-world sports games of all time. The Deluxe and Ultimate editions of the game have also been treated to 80% discounts as part of the promo, and are hence currently priced at $15.99 and $19.99, respectively.

The comparably critically acclaimed Forza Horizon 5 has also received a hefty 50% discount as part of the ongoing sale. The promotion hence brings it down to $29.99, matching its historically low price on Valve’s storefront. Equivalent discounts have been attached to the Deluxe and Premium Editions of Forza Horizon 5, which can currently be picked up for $39.99 and $49.99, respectively.

Finally, the most recent entry in the series, the 2023 driving sim Forza Motorsport, has also been treated to a half-off discount as part of the promotion. It is thus currently on offer at $34.99, which matches its lowest-ever price that was last available during Steam Summer Sale 2024. While Xbox Game Studios often runs cross-platform sales, that hasn’t been the case this time around, as none of the aforementioned Forza games are currently discounted on the Xbox/Microsoft Store.

The Forza franchise sale is set to conclude on Thursday, September 19. Seeing how Forza Horizon 4 will be delisted on December 15, this is almost certainly one of the final opportunities to grab it at a significant discount. Playground Games has previously confirmed that the upcoming delisting will not affect the arcade racer’s online features, as the studio plans to keep its servers online for the foreseeable future. The company cited expiring licensing agreements as the main reason for the delisting. Xbox Game Pass members who previously played Forza Horizon 4 via Microsoft’s subscription service and spent any money on its DLC have been receiving tokens that let them add the game for free to their accounts since June 2024. These promo codes need to be redeemed within two years of their issuance, and will begin expiring on June 25, 2026.
