The new voice actor for Frank West in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has been revealed as Jas Patrick. Just like the original, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster puts players in the role of Frank, an investigative journalist who finds himself trapped in a massive mall filled with zombies and other humans that either need to be saved from the undead hordes or stopped from making the dangerous situation worse. Capcom’s updated version of the 2006 classic is making many changes, including improved controls, an auto-save system, and enhanced graphics.

Another major change coming to Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is the voice of its central character. For most of the Dead Rising games (as well as crossover appearances in titles like Marvel Vs. Capcom 3), Frank West was voiced by TJ Rotolo, who is also known for playing William Birkin in more recent Resident Evil games. However, Rotolo confirmed that he would not be reprising his role as Frank West in the upcoming Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, news that left fans of his performance divided.

The Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster breathes new life into Capcom’s undead hack n’ slash classic, updating it in all the right ways.

In a recent interview with IGN, the development team behind Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster revealed that voice actor Jas Patrick will pick up Frank West’s camera in the upcoming game. Gamers will most likely recognize Patrick as the voice of Partitio Yellowil in Octopath Traveler 2, and he has performed in licensed titles like Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues, Nerf Legends, and LEGO 2K Drive. Most recently, he provided the English voice of Tsunanori Mido, one of the main protagonists of SaGa: Emerald Beyond.

Jas Patrick Voices Frank West In Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

While TJ Rotolo is the voice most Dead Rising fans associate with Frank West, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster won’t be the first game to replace him. When Frank returned in 2016’s Dead Rising 4, Ty Olsson provided his voice. Likewise, Peter von Gomm voiced Frank when he tangled with anime icons in 2010’s Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, as did prolific anime voice actor Scott McNeil in the mobile crossover Puzzle Fighter. For the 2015 live-action movie Dead Rising: Watchtower, retired United States Marine Rob Riggle assumed the role of the zombie-slaying journalist.

Jas Patrick is now joining the list of actors who voiced Frank West in the Dead Rising series, and it will be interesting to see what he brings to the role of the often-troubled reporter when Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster rises from the grave on September 19. The development team behind the game has said that they are pleased with his work, which could be a promising sign for fans who still miss TJ Rotolo as the original voice of Frank West.
