Key Takeaways

  • Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has made significant quality-of-life changes.
  • Achievements in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster have been altered, making them easier to unlock by reducing requirements.
  • New achievements, such as Nice Shot and Rampage, have been added to Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster for players to unlock.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has tweaked some of the zombie game’s achievements. Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a brand-new way to experience the fan favorite Capcom game, offering players revamped graphics and some major quality-of-life changes.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster‘s quality of life changes make a significant difference. Players are now able to fast-forward time, allowing them to get to specific objectives quicker, while survivors are able to survive a lot easier than they ever could in the 2006 original. Changes to Infinity Mode ensure that Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster‘s hardest achievements are far easier obtained, as players can now save and quit in the middle of a run, plus they can kill enemies for extra supplies.

The Dead Rising achievements themselves have also been changed in the remaster. Many of the achievements have been made easier to unlock. Instead of Sharp Dresser requiring players to wear 20 different outfits, they only have to change into five. Bullet Point requires players to shoot 300 bullets instead of 1,000. Item Smasher is now about breaking 30 items instead of 100. Karate Champ, which originally required players to kill 1,000 of Dead Rising‘s zombies barehanded, has been significantly toned down, but I can’t get into details without venturing into spoiler territory. Stunt Rider and Stunt Driver are now the same achievement. The Frank the Pimp achievement, which requires players to escort eight of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster‘s female survivors simultaneously, has been renamed to The Grateful Eight. Perhaps the most notable change is that Transmissionary no longer requires players to answer every single radio call from Otis, but just 30 of them. The full achievement list follows, including the secret achievements, so be weary of potential SPOILERS for the main story. Achievements that have been changed or are new are in bold.

Capcom didn’t stop at making the game’s achievements easier. It also added some brand-new ones to unlock. While exploring Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster‘s Willamette Mall, players will now want to make sure that they send a golf ball flying for at least 100 meters to unlock the Nice Shot achievement. They’ll also want to kill at least 100 enemies with a rocket launcher for the Rampage achievement.

Dead Rising Achievements That Aren’t in the Deluxe Remaster

  • Indoorsman – Spend at least 24 hours indoors
  • Outdoorsman – Spend at least 24 hours outdoors
  • Perfect Gunner – Don’t miss with a machine gun
  • Stunt Driver – Jump a car at least 33 feet
  • Unbreakable – Get the true ending without being knocked out

But while new achievements have been added, some of the original Dead Rising‘s achievements have also been removed. Stunt Driver has been folded into Stunt Rider, while players no longer have to worry about getting the True Ending without being knocked out for the Unbreakable achievement. Perfect Gunner, which was very buggy in the original Dead Rising, is no longer in the game, and neither are Indoorsman or Outdoorsman, which were pretty dull achievements that challenged players to stay indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time.
