One dedicated Elden Ring player managed to collect over 10 million runes. Elden Ring inherits several gameplay systems from the Dark Souls series, and it implements these features in an open world.
Runes play a key role in Elden Ring, as gamers can use them to level up their character and improve their weapons. Players get these runes by killing enemies and bosses, in addition to specific items that give out runes when they are used. Like other games made by FromSoftware, players lose their runes upon dying, and they are tasked with collecting them back from the place of their demise. Now, one Elden Ring fan has managed to obtain over 10 million runes after farming for many hours.
A user named Isho357 has shared a new image on Reddit, showing that they had collected 10,023,206 runes in their Elden Ring playthrough. Isho357 claims that it took 48 hours of farming for them to collect these many runes, stating that they are now ready to play Elden Ring. Isho357 also mentions that they are still having trouble dealing with the various dogs and birds in Elden Ring’s Caelid region, despite having collected over 10 million runes in this playthrough.
The player has confirmed that they were able to reach level 211 in Elden Ring after spending these runes, stating that a stacked character makes the game more enjoyable. Isho357 has also shared a story of how they almost lost four million runes during the process, but they were able to recover them after respawning.
Many users in the comments section discuss the best farming spots in Elden Ring, with several players recommending items that increase the number of runes earned upon defeating enemies. Several gamers state that farming a ton of runes in Elden Ring doesn’t make one better at the game, as the player’s experience is more important than stats. One user also mentions that players can still die to enemies despite having all stats at max, while a few others state that farming runes takes away the fun of playing Elden Ring.
While Isho357 managed to reach a fairly high level using this method, they are pretty far from the max level obtainable in the game. Elden Ring has a level cap of 713, and players will need 1,692,558,415 runes in total to reach this stage. So, it looks like Isho357 will have to farm for many more hours if they want to reach max level in Elden Ring.
