A creative Destiny 2 player has come up with a powerful new banana-themed costume for their Titan Guardian. The costume is another of many novel and inventive Destiny 2 customized costumes, which range from accurate pop-cultural references to irreverent evocations of healthy fruit.
Player Guardians continue to show off Destiny 2‘s chops as a major source of player creativity and self-expression. While many live service games feature a wealth of cosmetic options and themed skins, Destiny 2‘s relative age grants it an advantage over younger titles. This is due to the game’s vast selection of armor and shaders, accumulated over many years and compatible with the armor ornament system, which allows players to make almost any armor piece they’re wearing look like any other armor piece freely. That versatility has enabled players looking to do everything from craft a unique look to suit their Guardian’s loadout to creating a clever tribute to a popular Star Wars villain.

It’s Time for Destiny 2 to Take Another Shot at a Divisive Feature
There has arguably never been a better time for Destiny 2 to reintroduce and reimagine one of its most divisive features for The Final Shape.
Destiny 2 player MisterExcitement decided to harness the power of the Destiny 2 cosmetic apparatus towards the goal of making their Titan look like nothing less than a giant humanoid banana. Calling their Titan the “Iron Banana,” in a reference to a joking nickname for Destiny 2‘s periodic Iron Banner PVP mode, MisterExcitement used Titan Guardian parts to craft a unique, yellow-dominant costume.
Destiny 2 Titan’s Costume Resembles A Walking Banana
MisterExcitement did not post a detailed list of the parts they used to create the Iron Banana costume, leaving players to guess which parts they used. However, the key element in it was its bright yellow-and-black color scheme, which came from the Lighthouse Sun color shader. Unfortunately, Lighthouse Sun is an exclusive shader, and was only obtainable from a triumph tied to the 2019 Destiny 2 Season of the Dawn.
Other parts were more identifiable, such as the Legatus Helm ornament from the Season of the Chosen, which was also used in a different player’s Destiny 2 Corn Titan costume. Reverie Dawn arms to get the “banana peel” appearance, and an Iron Banner chestplate. Even MisterExcitement’s choice of ship and sparrow was banana-themed. Their ship was the Forbidden Memory, renamed to “Forbidden Nanners.” Their sparrow was the G-335 Anseris Overdrive from the Warmind mini-expansion (now considered Season 3). Both were also banana-colored thanks to the Lighthouse Sun shader.
Fellow Destiny 2 players were amused by MisterExcitement’s costume, and praised the obvious attention to detail, which extended not just to the armor but the sparrow, ship, and even the yellow-green emblem, evoking a banana plant. One fan remarked that MisterExcitement’s Titan was powered not by the Traveler’s Light, but by “Reddit’s Potassium.”
