Before players purchase Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, they may want to confirm that the game will display nicely on their monitors. In particular, fans with ultrawide monitors may want to know if the game officially supports aspect ratios of 21:9 or 31:9. This guide is here to offer clarity on that matter, and details about Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2‘s ultrawide support can be found in what follows.

Space Marine 2: Does it Have Ultrawide Support?

To put things simply, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 does not have official ultrawide support at the time of writing, and players with ultrawide monitors will find that black bars are added to the sides of the image when they play. That said, there are plans to officially support ultrawide resolutions, and those plans may come to fruition very soon.

Indeed, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2‘s post-launch roadmap indicates that ultrawide support will be added in September. While an exact date for the release of that support has not yet been provided, players with ultrawide monitors should be able to enjoy the game on their preferred displays before the month’s end.

Ultrawide support is not the only thing coming in September, as the roadmap also states that private PvP lobbies will be added within the month. That feature should make it possible to play

, which is sure to be a very exciting addition for some players.

To note, players have come up with a “fix” that allows Space Marine 2 to display in ultrawide formats, and a quick search of the game’s subreddit or Steam forum will produce it. The fix has not been tested firsthand, though, and it requires the bypassing of EAC. This means that the fix can only be used when playing Space Marine 2‘s campaign offline, and players are advised to simply wait for official support to come.

While it is known that the official support of ultrawide resolutions is coming soon, it is unclear if the developer will also be adding an FOV slider alongside it. This is a feature that is of particular interest to players with ultrawide monitors, though it would undoubtedly be appreciated by many players with 16:9 monitors as well. Once again, the aforementioned fix can be used to adjust the FOV when playing the campaign in offline mode, though is certainly not the ideal solution.
