Fortnite may be known for having crossover content from just about every nook and cranny of the pop culture zeitgeist, but another, rather unexpected personality has come forward to voice their desire to get themselves in the game: Dr. Phil. The iconic mustached talk show host recently posted a short video pleading his case for getting his own Fortnite “character” while comparing himself to another celebrity.

Epic Games’ increasingly popular free-to-play title recently launched Chapter 5 Season 2 for its primary Battle Royale game mode. Titled “Myths & Mortals,” the new season features a Greek mythology theme with locations like Mount Olympus and The Underworld, and has players harnessing the power of the Gods with new items like the Thunderbolt of Zeus and Wings of Icarus. While the season launch already included the reveal of its first crossover skin in the form of Korra from The Legend of Korra, Dr. Phil wants to be the next one.

Many new additions are making their way into Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, but some players find themselves disappointed with the new content.

Dr. Phil posted a short, 20-second video to TikTok discussing the current state of affairs after seemingly taking a moment away from his chat. Turning to face the camera, Dr. Phil asks the Fortnite creators what it is he’s “gotta do” in order to get his own character in the game. After a sigh, he makes it a point that Eminem has three different Fortnite skins while he’s sitting at zero. He then argues that he moves “like a cat”, and concedes that while that cat may be more like Garfield, it’s “still a cat,” warranting his own Fortnite skin.

Fortnite fans seem to actually be on board with the seemingly random proposition, with the video amassing nearly half a million likes at the time of writing. The post also has thousands of comments that are tagging Fortnite‘s official TikTok account, asking them to make the previously inconceivable crossover a reality. While crossover skins are usually fictitious characters, Fortnite does have its Icon Series, which are skins of real-world streamers, athletes, and musicians. The most recent entry was the Lady Gaga Fortnite skin, of which there are multiple.

Fortnite Fandom Knows No Bounds

While some gamers may have never thought to mention Dr. Phil and modern gaming/internet culture in the same breath, the TV personality has dabbled in the area before. A few years ago, Dr. Phil hosted Meme Review with PewDiePie, marking a full-circle moment considering PewDiePie’s coverage of The Dr. Phil Show. While there’s no telling if Dr. Phil’s plea will be heard by Fortnite‘s developers, the online masses have managed to move proverbial mountains before, so anything is possible – especially in Fortnite.
