Twitch streamer DrLupo pushed back on the response he has received for cutting ties with streamer Dr Disrespect. DrLupo was previously a friend and business partner of Dr Disrespect. However, in light of recent allegations and developments, he’s found it difficult to continue that bond. In June, former Twitch staff member Cody Conners claimed that Dr Disrespect’s Twitch ban allegedly happened since he “got caught sexting a minor in the then existing Twitch whispers product.” The fallout of these allegations has been significant.
The fact that Dr Disrespect sent inappropriate messages to a person he knew was underage has been corroborated by several people, including himself. More controversial streamers like xQc have also distanced themselves from Dr Disrespect. The consequences of Dr Disrespect’s actions, alleged and confirmed, have not only been social. Companies like Turtle Beach have ceased business with Dr Disrespect as well.
