Highlights

  • Boost Stamina with items like Viridian Amber Medallion +3 to improve combat potential in Elden Ring.
  • Radahn’s Great Rune offers a well-rounded bonus to HP, Stamina, and FP for mid to late game.
  • Two-Headed Turtle Talisman enhances Stamina recovery, crucial for quick combat decisions in battles.

Stamina management has always been a cornerstone of combat in the soulslike genre, and Elden Ring is no different. To succeed, players must keep a close eye on their Stamina levels to evade enemy attacks and retaliate effectively during openings. This is why directly increasing a character’s total Stamina is one of the simplest and most straightforward ways to enhance combat potential, regardless of the weapon somebody uses. Additionally, most weapon skills require both Stamina and FP, making it crucial for certain builds that rely heavily on these resources.

Elden Ring: The 8 Best Great Runes For A Level 1 Run

Elden Ring players hoping to survive a Level 1 run are going to want to get their hands on these incredibly useful Great Runes.

Fortunately, Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree not only allow players to increase Stamina by leveling up Endurance but also offer a wide selection of items that boost maximum Stamina or at least improve its regeneration speed. Let’s take a look at all the items that will make Stamina management much easier during challenging fights against the most dangerous bosses in the base game and the expansion.

1 Viridian Amber Medallion +3

Raises Maximum Stamina by 17%

Elden Ring Viridian Amber Medallion +3

  • Increases maximum Stamina by 11%/13%/15%/17%
  • Weight: 0.6

Viridian Amber Medallion +3 is the most powerful item for boosting Stamina in Elden Ring, including the DLC. This talisman offers a greater Stamina increase than even the most potent Great Runes in the game, making it an invaluable tool for players who struggle against overly aggressive foes or prefer a more defensive playstyle. With this medallion equipped, players will rarely find themselves low on Stamina when it’s time to strike, no matter how large or heavy their weapon is.

To obtain the Viridian Amber Medallion +3, players need to have the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion installed. This powerful talisman can be found in the Darklight Catacombs. For those without the DLC, the Viridian Amber Medallion +2 is a solid alternative. It can be acquired in Miquella’s Haligtree, inside a chest guarded by Scarlet Rot Zombies.

2 Radahn’s Great Rune

Raises Maximum Stamina By 15%

Elden Ring Radahn's Great Rune

  • Increases HP, Stamina, and FP by 15%

Before the introduction of the Viridian Amber Medallion +3, Radahn’s Great Rune was considered the best item for directly boosting Stamina, though it comes with the caveat of requiring Rune Arcs to activate, which some players may prefer to save for the most challenging bosses. Radahn’s Great Rune is also popular because it significantly boosts maximum Health and Focus Points (FP), offering a well-rounded set of bonuses that are particularly useful from mid to late game. Once a player becomes accustomed to these bonuses, it can be difficult to switch back.

Radahn’s Great Rune is obtained after defeating Starscourge Radahn in Caelid, but players must also activate it by scaling the Divine Tower of Caelid. To keep the Rune’s bonuses active, players need to equip it and use a Rune Arc every time they die.

3 Erdtree’s Favor +2

Raises Maximum Stamina By 10%

Elden Ring Erdtree's Favor +2

  • Raises maximum HP by 4%, Stamina by 10%, and Equip Load by 8%
  • Weight: 1.5

Erdtree’s Favor +2 is the strongest variant of this talisman, offering a substantial bonus to total Stamina, along with smaller boosts to maximum HP and Equip Load. When paired with the Viridian Amber Medallion +3, it provides an optimal setup for builds that consume high amounts of Stamina, such as the Greatshield Poke build, which can be powerful enough to defeat the Shadow of the Erdtree’s final boss without taking any damage.

Players can obtain this powerful talisman later in the game, in Leyndell, Ashen Capital. It’s located on a branch in a large courtyard and is heavily guarded. However, players can simply run towards the talisman, grab it, and escape without needing to defeat the three Lesser Ulcerated Tree Spirits that protect it.

4 Godrick’s Great Rune

Raises Endurance By +5

Elden Ring Godrick's Great Rune

  • Raises all attributes by +5

Godrick’s Great Rune is widely considered the best option for early to mid-game in Elden Ring, as it essentially grants 40 free levels to the character. Among its many benefits is a boost of five points to Endurance, providing a pleasant increase to Stamina. While this effect may not be as significant as Radahn’s for high-level characters, it’s arguably more useful for lower-level characters with stats below 35. Like other Great Runes, players must use a Rune Arc each time to maintain its effects.

5 Imp Head (Wolf)

Raises Endurance By +2

Elden Ring Imp Wolf Head

  • Increases Endurance by +2
  • Weight: 8.1

By defeating Imp enemies in Elden Ring, players can acquire Imp Heads, which can be equipped as helmets. These helms offer unique bonuses and excellent protection, though they are relatively heavy. The Imp Head (Wolf) , for example, provides a unique perk of raising Endurance by two points, granting a small boost to both Stamina and Equip Load. While this bonus may seem modest, the Imp Head helmets also offer great Physical and Fire damage protection, along with extremely high Immunity and Robustness. Additionally, the Imp Head’s distinctive appearance might appeal to some players.

The Imp Head (Wolf) can randomly drop from Wolf-Headed Imps in various Catacomb dungeons. However, it can also be found on a corpse lying over a sarcophagus in the Minor Erdtree Catacomb.

6 Hierodas Glintstone Crown

Raises Endurance By +2

Elden Ring Hierodas Glintstone Crown

  • Increases Intelligence and Endurance by +2, but reduces FP by 10%
  • Weight: 3.0

Another notable helmet is the Hierodas Glintstone Crown , which also increases Endurance by two points, resulting in a slight boost to maximum Stamina and Equip Load. This magical helmet, with its unique appearance, further increases Intelligence by two points, while offering strong elemental protection and impressive Focus and Vitality resistances, particularly given its light weight. However, a drawback is that wearing this large crown reduces total FP (mana) by 10%.

7 Radagon’s Soreseal

Raises Endurance by +5

Elden Ring Radagon's Soreseal

  • Increases Vigor, Endurance, Strength, Dexterity by +5 each, increases damage taken by 15%
  • Weight: 0.8

Radagon’s Soreseal is a more powerful version of the Radagon’s Scarseal amulet, offering five additional points to Vigor, Endurance, Strength, and Dexterity (compared to the three points provided by the Scarseal). While these bonuses may seem appealing, the talisman comes with a significant drawback: it increases damage taken by 15%. For most players, this trade-off may not be worth it, especially as the game progresses and enemies hit harder. However, skilled players aiming for a no-hit run might still find Radagon’s Soreseal valuable for the 20 free levels it effectively grants.

To obtain Radagon’s Soreseal, players need to venture into Fort Faroth in Caelid and search inside the fort. The talisman can be found on a corpse within.

8 Two-Headed Turtle Talisman

Raises Stamina Recovery by 22.5%

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Two-Headed Turtle Talisman

  • Increases Stamina recovery speed by 10 per second
  • Weight: 1.0

Introduced in Shadow of the Erdtree, the Two-Headed Turtle Talisman is an enhanced version of the popular Green Turtle Talisman. Although these amulets don’t directly increase maximum Stamina, they significantly improve Stamina regeneration rates (8 per second for the base version and 10 per second for the Two-Headed version). This boost allows players to recover Stamina more quickly during combat, keeping them ready to attack or dodge at a moment’s notice. Many Elden Ring players have relied on the Green Turtle Talisman throughout the entire game, making the improved version a welcome upgrade.

9 Greenspill Crystal Tear

Raises Maximum Stamina By 15% For 3 Minutes

Elden Ring Greenspill Crystal Tear

Greenspill Crystal Tear is an excellent choice for builds with high Stamina consumption, despite its effect lasting only 3 minutes. During that time, it grants a 15% boost to the player’s total Stamina pool, which can be crucial in defeating many of the challenging bosses in Elden Ring. Additionally, players should consider using the Greenburst Crystal Tear and Viridian Hidden Tear in their Flask of Wondrous Physick mix. The Greenburst Crystal Tear increases Stamina recovery speed by 15 per second (outperforming the Two-Headed Turtle Talisman) for 3 minutes, while the Viridian Hidden Tear completely eliminates all Stamina consumption, though only for a brief 15 seconds.

The Greenspill Crystal Tear is one of the earliest Tears players can find in Limgrave, and acquiring it doesn’t require defeating any bosses. Instead, it’s located at an altar near the Minor Erdtree in Mistwood.
