Where To Find Ash of War: Wing Stance
Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree introduces multiple new weapon types for players to try out. Along with the new weapon types are new Ashes of War that only work on those new weapon types, giving players lots of new options when determining their build.
A common new type of Ashes of War is Stances, which will have the players standing still holding the stance, waiting for the moment to unleash one of the multiple moves at their disposal. One of these Ashes of War is Wing Stance, and players can find it fairly early into the DLC; here’s where to get it.

Ash of War: Wing Stance – Overview & Weapon Types
- Usable on Light Greatswords.
- Changes the affinity of the weapon to any of the following: Standard, Quality, Fire, Flame Art, Poison, Blood, or Occult.
- FP Cost – 8 FP
This Ash of War will need to be taken back to a blacksmith and applied to any Light Greatsword the player wants, which are a new weapon type only found in the Shadow Lands. When equipping the Ash, players will be able to choose which affinity they want that weapon to now have, with each affinity changing the scaling and bonus effect of the weapon. The player can also choose to take the Ash of War off a weapon or undo the enhancement to either put it on a different weapon or change the affinity of the weapon to another option.
As for the Ash of War itself, holding down the activation button will have the player hold out their weapon to the right and wait. Pressing the basic attack button will unleash a series of three slashes at a close distance. While holding the stance, players can move their character but only at a walking speed. Pressing the strong attack button will have the player leap into the air and lunge forward while descending to close a gap. Players can hold the stance for as long as needed and wait to choose which action fits the moment best.

Where To Find Ash of War: Wing Stance
Ash of War: Wing Stance is found by first making it to Castle Ensis, and early location in Shadow of the Erdtree, and reaching the Castle-Lord’s Chamber Site Of Grace. From here, head outside the nearby balcony and look over the edge to see a cliff below. Jump over the balcony and down to the cliff, facing south to find additional ledges to drop to reach the lowest level. Just ahead will be a tower with no enemies standing in your way, with the Ash of War: Wing Stance being in a chest at the top of that tower.
