The Bonny Butchering Knife is just one of the hundreds of new weapons added in Elden Ring’s absolutely massive DLC, The Shadow of the Erdtree. Compared to a lot of other weapons in this DLC, the Bonny Butchering Knife might look a bit ‘plain’ visually, and to be honest this is probably one of the DLC’s worst examples since it’s almost a carbon copy of the Butchering Knife dropped by Anastasia, the Tarnished-Eater in the main game.

Elden Ring: Most Intimidating Armor Combinations For Invasions

There’s no better power play for invaders in Elden Ring than a set of armor that strikes fear in the hearts of their enemies.

However, while that weapon scaled primarily with Dexterity, the Bonny Butchering Knife scales more with Strength, and it has a unique passive effect and Ash of War. So, let’s go over the fine details of the Bonny Butchering Knife as well as break down exactly where you can find this weapon in Elden Ring’s DLC.

Compared to the default Butchering Knife in the Base Game, it’s honestly sort of difficult to argue in favor of the Bonny Butchering Knife. Because this uses Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade, it cannot be infused with Grease and you can’t switch out the Ash of War or modify it to change the scaling.

It’s basically just a less versatile Butchering Knife that has a pretty situational Ash of War, making it a weapon that not a lot of people are exactly dying to get their hands on. However, if the Hone Blade Ash of War and its effects at all interest you, it’s worth giving this weapon a try at the very least.

Bonny Butchering Knife Location

Obviously, It’s Found In Bonny Village

To get this weapon, you’ll first have to reach the Bonny Village, the area on a lower part of the Scadu Atlas, just south of the Cathedral of Manus Metyr and just east of the Moorth Ruins. In fact, to get here, you need to actually find your way down into the cavern area of the Moorth Ruins, and progress through this cave until you find a ladder leading up and out. At the top of this ladder, you’ll find that you’re now in Bonny Village, and the Bonny Village Site of Grace should be right in front of you.

From here, you can head northeast to find a variety of enemies as well as the Potentates guarding different sections of this village. In the center of the village, you should see a small broken bridge that you’ll need to ride Torrent to jump across. However, before you jump, look for a dilapidated building just left of this broken bridge, and you should see a body with an item on it inside. Walk up to the body and interact with it, and you’ll get the Bonny Butchering Knife. From here, you can keep heading northeast to reach the Bridge Leading to the Village Site of Grace or across the bridge to the south to reach the Bonny Goal Site of Grace.
