Elden Ring boasts one ginormous map, teeming with large legacy dungeons and vast open worlds where players can discover a wide assortment of weapons and spells. While some of the strongest and most formidable attacks are locked behind boss fights, many are scattered across the open areas of the Lands Between, waiting to be collected. For spell enthusiasts, there’s the opportunity to discover multiple spells at once by collecting spellbooks and exchanging them with learned sorcerers or clerics to unlock new spell trades.
While most spellbooks in Elden Ring unlock incantations, a couple of them are tailored for mages and contain powerful sorceries. One such sorcery spellbook, the Royal House Scroll, is accessible quite early and grants access to two potent sorceries.
Elden Ring: 14 Great Spells For Multiplayer
PVP players in Elden Ring have several spells to choose from when challenging other players. Here’s which spells work the best in PVP.
Royal House Scroll is a spellbook located atop a broken ruin east of the Agheel Lake South grace site in Limgrave. Typically, this is the first spellbook most players will discover in their Elden Ring playthroughs, unless they choose to venture through Stormveil Castle, where the Godskin Prayerbook featuring Black Flame incantations can be found.
Newcomers to the Lands Between might not have thoroughly explored the starting region to uncover the Royal House Scroll, or perhaps even the Agheel Lake South grace site. Even if you’ve explored the comparatively peaceful Limgrave extensively, it’s easy to overlook the Royal House Scroll, perched atop a ruin and easily missed unless you climb up.
How to Find the Royal House Scroll
The journey to find the Royal House Scroll begins from The First Step site of grace. This is the first grace site you encounter after emerging from the Stranded Graveyard dungeon. From here, head southeast to reach the Seaside Ruins site of grace. Proceed east to locate Bloody Finger Hunter Yura, eventually reaching the Agheel Lake South grace site.
Upon arriving at Agheel Lake South, head to the cliff on the east to find an enemy camp, home to groups of Godrick knights, a few Kaiden Riders, and a couple of sorcerers standing atop the ruins. Climb the ruin on the east side to discover the Royal House Scroll on a corpse beside the sorcerer.
How to Use the Royal House Scroll
Upon reading the description of the Royal House Scroll, players will discover that this scroll needs to be given to a learned sorcerer to unlock two spells – Glintblade Phalanx and Carian Slicer. There are three learned sorcerers players can find in the Lands Between.
The closest sorcerer is Sorceress Sellen in the Waypoint Ruins’ Cellar, located just north of where you found the Royal House Scroll. However, you will need to defeat a Mad Pumpkin Head boss to gain access to her. Alternatively, players can give the Royal House Scroll to Miriel, Pastor of Vows, located in the Church of Vows, or to Preceptor Seluvis in Seluvis’ Rise, east of Ranni’s Rise grace site. Miriel is the easiest to reach, whereas players will have to clear Caria Manor and defeat the Royal Knight Loretta boss to access Preceptor Seluvis.
After giving the Royal House Scroll to any one of them, players will be able to purchase Carian Slicer for 1500 runes and Glintblade Phalanx for 2500 runes.
