How To Reach Old North Church In Fallout 4
Bethesda’s Fallout 4 is a vast open world game filled with interesting quests and characters. In a post-apocalyptic city, it can be hard to maintain a good sense of direction, and since locations can only be fast-traveled to once they have been discovered, players will find themselves having to explore a lot on foot. One of the more challenging locations many players struggle to find at first is the Old North Church, which acts as the base of operations for the Railroad faction.

Game Rant’s guide hub for Fallout 4 has tons of information to help players on their journey, including quest walkthroughs, weapon locations, etc.
Players can choose to follow the Freedom Trail questline in order to trace the location of the church, but there is a simpler route that players can follow. On the journey, players are likely to encounter dangers such as Raiders, Super Mutants, Gunners, Feral Ghouls and even potentially The Swan boss, so it is wise to stock up on ammo and meds before seeking out the important location of Old North Church.
Where Is The Old North Church Located In Fallout 4?
Old North Church can be found on the wide peninsula stretching out from the north-east of Diamond City. Nearby locations include Cabot House and the Pickman Gallery. Another obvious landmark to look for on the map is the eastern-most bridge connecting the city to the rest of the Commonwealth, but for most players, the easiest point of reference will be Diamond City in the early-game.
Given that most players will not have explored the eastern side of the city at the point they are required to travel to Old North Church, it makes sense to follow directions starting from Diamond City. Equally, players will not really have much reason to seek out this location without having gone to Diamond City first.

How To Reach Old North Church In Fallout 4
From the main entrance of Diamond City, players will need to head east along its walls and follow the road towards the towers in the distance. At the Bank, players should turn north and follow the road down until it opens out to Trinity Plaza in the east. Next, follow the road down past Boston Public Library. Keep following the road until reaching the bottom of the hill where Swan’s Pond can be found. For newer players, it may be advisable NOT to shoot at the submerged swan-wing in the water, unless they wish to summon a powerful mutated boss, who will attack immediately. Crossing the park to its north-eastern corner, players should then look for the Massachusetts State House building and follow the road down past a super encampment.
Next, players will notice the entrance to the settlement of Goodneighbor. Facing the entrance, players should turn left and follow the road further to the north, where a raider encampment blocks the road. Players can either take them out or cut through the alley eastward and follow the red Freedom Trail line painted onto the floor. Taking this route will lead players to a small supermutant camp in a courtyard with the Freedom Trail running through it. Following the trail is actually a lengthy diversion from the quickest route, and Old North Church can be seen from this location by simply turning to the left. Having arrived at the church, players can find the entrance at the opposite end to the spire with a statue of Paul Revere on horseback looking out towards the Boston Airport Ruins.
