The Fixer has been a staple in many Rifleman and Commando builds in Fallout 76 ever since it was introduced in the Wild Appalachia update. It has a solid stat package that works well for both low and full-health builds, and it’s good even for fans of stealth.
Fallout 76: How To Increase Carry Weight
There’s so much loot to be picked up in Fallout 76, and you won’t be able to bring them all home unless you increase your carry capacity.
This unique Combat Rifle easily becomes one of the best and most valuable weapons in Fallout 76 once it gets a good Legendary affix, but the weapon is more than capable of carrying players as a starting endgame gun even without any fancy modifiers. Here’s how to get it.
How to Get The Fixer in Fallout 76
The main way of obtaining your first Fixer is to complete a chain of quests in the Ash Heap to the south. Start by going to any Ash Heap train station, and interact with a poster saying “Sheepsquatch ate my brother!” Doing this will start the Lying Lowe quest, which involves tracking down clues related to the mythical Sheepsquatch and a trio of corporate operatives.
The Fixer is one of the rewards for Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing, the fourth quest in the chain set that takes players to the Garrahan Estate. While you’re here, you might want to investigate the nearby Garrahan Mining Headquarters to get Fallout 76’s Excavator Power Armor as well.
Base modifiers for the Fixer include:
- Stealth damage bonus
- 20% increased damage
- 20% faster movement speed while sneaking
How to Get The Fixer Plans
The crafting plans for the Fixer is one of the potential random drops from the Encryptid public event, which pits players against an actual Sheepsquatch (which is actually just a modified assaultron in Fallout 76). To beat the Sheepsquatch, players will need to work together to make the boss vulnerable to damage by activating three conduit pylons while staving off hordes of hostile robots.
It may take a number of tries before you get the Fixer plans to drop. Luckily, there’s also a chance to get the plans by completing mutated public events. There’s a chance for one of these to appear every hour, so keep your eyes peeled for a notification that’ll appear on your screen. After learning the Fixer’s plans, legendary variants may drop as quest rewards or appear in Purveyor Murmrgh’s store.
To craft a Level 50 Fixer at a Weapon Workbench, you will need the following:
- Adhesive (9)
- Gear (10)
- Spring (15)
- Screw (15)
- Steel (18)
- Oil (8)
- Wood (14)
