Most activities Final Fantasy 14 players can do in the game include cooperation. But there’s also a great deal of PvP activities available to measure up against other players, too. The developer has added more content to PvP over the years, including better rewards, a revamp of the PvP special abilities, and the Crystalline Conflict mode.
Ahead of Dawntrail, players can spend a lot of time completing these activities. PvP rewards are offered at the end of each season, which are called Series in FF14. Series 5 has started at the end of 2023 and is set to last for over seven months. It will end with the launch of Dawntrail, however, so players only have a few weeks left to get points and receive their rewards.

Final Fantasy 14: Why you should play PvP ahead of Dawntrail
Players who play PvP and earn ranking points before Dawntrail‘s launch will get some sweet gifts. The developer has become very generous with players who delve in PvP combat, and the rewards of Series 5 are worth grabbing.
Here are the rewards for reaching Season 5 Malmstones:
- Level 5: Emote: Defeatist Attitude
- This emote is one of the best to show how little enjoyment the character is having. Perfect to use when a player makes a bad joke, or when completing the lengthy Moogle’s Beast Tribe quests.
- Level 10: Palaistra Framer’s Kit
- Level 15: Tourmaline Weapon: Minion
- This minion is quite unique, with floating hands that can move in an exclusive animation.
- Level 20: Cloud Nine Framer’s Kit
- Level 25: Fierce Tyrant’s Attire Coffer
Players can also earn great amounts of XP by playing PvP through the daily Roulette “Frontline.”
Each new level also grants Trophy Crystals, with a maximum cap of 20,000 in the player’s inventory. This currency can be used to buy more exclusive items to the Crystal Quartermaster in Wolves’ Den Pier (X: 4.5, Y: 6). Players can get exclusive sets of gear and weapons for each combat job. The sets feature a shiny armor with spikes, with red or blue plates. It’s elegant and sleek. These gear sets are the highlight of the PvP series.
Players can also buy numerous Framer’s Kit for their Adventurer Plates, the Protonaught Minion, a Wolf Barding for their Chocobo, Orchestrion Rolls, and more. These last rewards won’t go away after Series 5 ends, however, so there’s no rush to collect more Trophy Crystals, contrary to Malmstone rewards which are exclusive to the current Series.
