Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is filled with materials for Cloud to use in crafting. From the moment he receives the Transmuter and is set free in the Grasslands, Cloud will be inundated with items. This new mechanic in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a welcome addition to the Remake series, and will provide Cloud and the party with several important items throughout the game.

While the Item Transmuter is a relatively easy mechanic to follow and understand, the availability of some crafting materials – especially early in the game – can be slightly confusing. Condor Cedar is a good example of this, and though it will eventually be available in abundance, players will likely wonder when and where they will have access to it. This guide will explain where to find it, as well as the basic structure of how and when new crafting items become available.

The Item Transmuter menus can be slightly tricky, because it may not be clear to some players that Condor Cedar is not immediately available in the Grasslands. As players make their way through Rebirth, they will likely discover how the crafting material menu works, and how to discover which materials are in which region.

To do this, hover over the crafting recipe you are interested in, and press the touchpad. This will open up a ‘Check Materials’ sub-menu. Select the desired material to see where it is available, but remember that only recipes that are available for crafting will reveal their materials.

Condor Cedar is found in Junon, and in each subsequent region. However, players will notice that many material locations will feature a red arrow pointing up. This means that the material is found in abundance in that region. For Condor Cedar, that region is Junon.

Finding Condor Cedar in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Players looking to collect a large amount of Condor Cedar can follow a simple strategy to collect it in large amounts. The first step is to head to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth‘s Junon region. Condor Cedar is found in abundance in this region, making it the most reliable area to find the material in large amounts.

Once in Junon, consider these options:

  • Condor Cedar is marked with a small symbol that resembles a tree branch. Players will notice that these symbols are found in two color varieties. These colors signify the material’s rarity, with the gold symbols noting a ‘rare’ material. Condor Cedar is marked with a golden tree branch symbol.
  • Knowing how the Condor Cedar is marked allows the player to avoid all other materials and head straight for the rare options. Look for the small groups of branch symbols, often with a single gold variant. In Junon, this will basically always be Condor Cedar.
  • Lifesprings are some of the best places to reliably get Condor Cedar. The location with the most is on the small island at the southeastern corner of the region.
